Catrice 110 Pink Me Up Ultimate Colour Lipstick Review

Hope you all are enjoying the weekend. As for me, I’m spending my time doing what I love the most that is, playing with and reviewing lipsticks. So, for today’s review I picked up yet another pretty pink from the Catrice Ultimate Colour range of lipsticks. The shade is 110 Pink me Up. So let’s see how this one faired…

My Experience with Catrice 110 Pink Me Up Ultimate Colour Lipstick:

The packaging, as we all know by now, is a simple and sleek one. The lipstick comes in a black, glossy cylindrical case which has a shade sticker along with the shade name and number attached to it at the base. The lipstick bullet has the brand name inscribed on it which I feel, adds a sophisticated touch to the look. Though it’s a drugstore brand, yet I must say that the packaging is quite sturdy and not flimsy by any means.

The shade 110 Pink Me Up is yet again a very universally flattering pink. It is a deep reddish pink shade which has enough warmth to suit our olive Indian skin tones. Like 270-Matt-erial-Girl even this one is a universally flattering pink which I can imagine looking great on a large number on skin tones. For me this can even double up as a regular wear shade as I enjoy wearing bright colours in the monsoons and I feel this is such a colour that can look nice and bright yet not look very over-the-top.

In terms of texture this is super creamy and moisturising and is a boon for girls with dry lips. It glides smoothly on the lips like butter and doesn’t highlight fine lines, rather gives the lips a plump and nourished look. Further, even post removal it leaves the lips soft and hydrated. The good part about this lipstick is that inspite of being so moisturising, the bullet is very sturdy and doesn’t wobble from the base or tend to break off. The lipstick has a noticeable fruity fragrance which I have got pretty used to by now but for girls who are unfamiliar with it, might find it a bit annoying. The pigmentation of this shade is quite rich and with 2 swipes all discoloration of the lips is taken care of.

The staying power of this lipstick is quite good inspite of being a creamy one. It stays for a good 3-4 hours with slight and uniform fading. It survives drinks and snacks but reapplication becomes a must post a full meal. Even post fading it leaves a soft pink stain which I actually like more than the original shade. The annoying part is that it transfers a lot in the first hour post application but eventually settles down. So I advise blotting the colour with a tissue post application to remove the excess.

• Transfers a lot initially post application.
• Has an artificial fruity fragrance which may not be liked by all.

Overall, I’m in lovvvveeee with this shade as I’m a fan of deep pinks and I love the way it brightens up the face. I recommend it to everybody as this would look great on women of all ages and on all complexions.
