Recently, I purchased few Aqua Ink-in-Glosses from Catrice, and today’s review is about Catrice Cosmetics Aqua Ink-In-Gloss in the shade “040 Let’s Mauve to the Beach”. So, read on to know more.

My Experience with Catrice Cosmetics 040 Let’s Mauve to the Beach Aqua Ink-In-Gloss:
Aqua Ink is an innovative long wear range from Catrice. Catrice Cosmetics Aqua Ink-In-Gloss comes in a silver metallic case. One can see the shade of the lip gloss through the sides. The packaging doesn’t look cheap, but the product comes unsealed. The screw cap holds the applicator wand and closes tightly, and thus the product makes a good travel companion. The wand is at a correct length and is convenient to hold. The doe foot shaped applicator picks up the product efficiently and eases the application to every corner of the lips.
The lip gloss has a lightweight and non-sticky formula. Also, since the lip gloss is creamy, it glides effortlessly onto the lips. There is a hint of sweet fragrance to the lip gloss that smells very artificial. The lip gloss takes around 15-20 minutes to dry and once dried, the product stays longer. The lip gloss is light and doesn’t feel heavy on the lips. Also, it hides the pigmentation on the lips really well.
“Let’s Mauve to the Beach” is a beautiful, light mauve shade. It is a mixture of purple and nude colours. Once applied, the mauve shade looks natural and light, and it doesn’t look overpowering on the lips. Initially, the colour does look glossy, but it settles to a matte finish after some time. The colour on the top fades away after 7-8 hours, and the stain lasts longer. However, the lip gloss doesn’t leave a strong stain like the bold colours from this range.
The gloss doesn’t have moisturization properties, and thus it has to be applied onto well-exfoliated lips. I have noticed that the gloss settles into the creases and as it leaves a stain, the visibility is more. However, you can slather on a lip balm without worrying about the colour fading, which is a huge plus point.
The pigmentation is great, and I absolutely love the colour. However, the only disappointment with this Aqua Ink range is the removal of the stain from the lips. Since it leaves a semi-permanent stain, it can stain the clothes. However, it doesn’t bleed or transfer onto cups and glasses, which is great. Overall, the product is a good buy, and I’m looking forward to trying out the other two shades from this range.
