I am always up for trendy top coats. It sometimes give an oomph for the plain nail polishes. I recently picked up a newly launched top coat from Catrice and today’s review is all about Catrice Cosmetics Shake & Seal Top Coat in the shade “04 Coral Bay”. Read on to know more.

Ethyl Acetate, Butyl Acetate, Polyvinyl Butyral, Nitrocellulose, Acetyl Tributyl Citrate, Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer, Tosylamide/Epoxy Resin, Isopropyl Alcohol, N-Butyl Alcohol, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Silica, Tin Oxide, Dimethicone, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Octocrylene, Ci 15850 (Red 6 Lake), Ci 77891 (Titanium Dioxide).

My Experience with Catrice Cosmetics Shake and Seal Top Coat 04 Coral Bay:

The top coat comes in a transparent rectangular glass bottle with a black screw cap. The design is beautiful and there is some information on the back of the bottle. The product comes unsealed but it usually stays tight if it has not been open and also once you open it, the cap doesn’t align with the lines again in this way. So, you can usually pick the right ones. The product is travel-friendly.

The product contains glitters. Shake and Seal consists of 5 shades and I picked up the shade “Coral Bay” as I had few light pink nail polishes and I thought it could be a good addition to enhance the looks. There is a steel ball in the bottle to make sure the product mixes well.

The brush is good and it fans out while application providing an even finish. The brush is also dense and it picks up the product effectively. The product contains 3 layers and you need to mix them to combine and then apply on the nails. It has this typical acetone smell which I despise! The top coat is transparent and has a runny, gel-like consistency. You can use the product as a top coat or can be worn alone. When used as a top coat, it adds shimmer to the color. The shimmer particles are bright and they shine brilliantly in the sun. It doesn’t build up on the nail polish and just one coat covers the nail polish effectively providing the necessary shimmer it needs. It adds amazing shine to the color.

The product also creates a gellac like finish. Once you apply on the nail coat, the shimmery particles create an upgrade to the nail polishes. The coat seals the nail polish and makes it stay longer. It increases the nail polish life by around 2-3 days. The product creates amazing glam look onto the nails. The product doesn’t cause chipping or peeling, which is great and the entire product can be easily removed with a normal nail polish remover. It is a good addition if you like top coats that oomph up your boring solid colors.
