Hi girls,
On a regular day, I usually do not apply face primer, but during peak summers, I do prefer a lightweight shine free primer. I have been using this Catrice prime and fine primer for over 1 month now. So it is the best time to pen down my opinion about this. Let’s get into the details.

Catrice Prime and Fine Smoothing Refiner Review

Price: Rs. 730 (with shipping Rs. 790)

Product Description:
CATRICE presents Prime and Fine – the range of professional products for an excellent foundation. Ideal preparation: the Smoothing Refiner. The oil-free silicone-based primer practically makes pores disappear and fills out wrinkles for a smooth, refined complexion. Now you’re ready for your grand entry! Comes in a high-quality jar.

My Experience with Catrice Prime and Fine Smoothing Refiner:

The primer comes in clear small plastic jar with a black cap. Packaging is light weight and totally a travel friendly one. I really like it. Maybe the quantity is only 14 g but this small jar will really last long as I need very less amount for each use. So compared to other primers, it is quite affordable.

Primer looks like a light pink moisturizer. It blends so smoothly and feels light on skin. Texture is like soft and creamy. It nicely absorbs into skin and settles down into a very natural, soft, silky texture. It has a mild chemical smell.

I prefer matte gel-based primers for my super oily skin. It hydrates skin without making it greasy. It doesn’t have that exact matte finish, but it gives a semi-matte velvety finish. This one is a great option for normal to dry skin. It makes skin smoother and also covers large, open pores. It makes my pores less visible and smaller. I have few open pores around my nose and it really works nicely to minimize them. But they do not become totally invisible like the product claims.
primer
It provides a smooth base for makeup application; my foundation blends smoothly after using this. I don’t have much fine lines, only few baby lines around under eye area. This primer also makes them less noticeable but they are not totally invisible after using this. Also, it never feels cakey irrespective of the amount of product applied. It really acts nicely as a base of makeup. It suits my sensitive skin nicely and never breaks me out.

I have super oily skin so my T zone gets oily after 3-4 hours. But this keeps my face oil free. It is not super effective to keep me sweat free though. It keeps my makeup in place for around 7 hours which is really good. I love to apply highlighter and after 7 hours my highlighter still looks glowing, which usually does not stay for more than 5 hours. It prevents my makeup from creasing too.
before and after
Overall, it is a nice option for normal to dry skin. But it is not the best primer for oily skin. It can’t control oil that much during summer. It works better on me during dry weathers. I love my Colorbar face primer more than this!

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Catrice Prime and Fine Smoothing Refiner?
Obviously, I will repurchase this. Only during hot summer, I need a supermatte primer. But during other seasons, I have to have this. If you have normal to dry skin, just give this a try. It does its job perfectly.
