Recently, I bought a lot of lip products from Catrice. They have many super amazing products under the velvet matt range. Today’s review is all about Catrice Velvet Matt Lip Cream in the shade Red Revolution. So, read on to know more.

My Experience with Catrice Velvet Matt Lip Cream – Red Revolution:
The Catrice Velvet Matt Lip Cream comes in a small glass bottle with a black screw cap. The screw cap holds the applicator which is short, but it is handy for applying the product. The sponge is flimsy and wobbly because of which I use a separate brush for applying the product onto my lips. The bottle is small and travel-friendly. However, the glass bottle is not sturdy and is prone to breakage.
The lip cream is thick, creamy and it has a mousse-y texture that spreads easily on the lips but, there are chances that you might end up using a lot more product than required. So, applying it evenly takes a little time. The product is glossy and settles into a nice glossy finish which is nowhere close to a matte finish. It also feels sticky on the lips.
The shade “Red Revolution” is a beautiful red color. I love red lipsticks as they brighten up my face and this shade does the same too. However, this lip cream takes a lot of time to dry. It isn’t moisturising on the lips but, it does not dry out the lips either. It can be used without a lip balm underneath. However, I prefer using this lip cream on well-moisturised lips. The product doesn’t settle into creases and it hides the pigmentation of my lips by providing a full coverage.
The staying power of the lip cream is a big disappointment. The lip cream hardly stays on my lips for 2-3 hours after which it starts fading away. It gets transferred everywhere, to the area below my lips, to glass cups and what not. But, the product doesn’t bleed. I guess this is because of the creamy texture. Overall, this lip cream isn’t worth the buy.

Cons of Catrice Velvet Matt Lip Cream – Red Revolution:
- Transfers a lot.
- Not at all moisturising.
- Packaging is not upto the mark.
- Wobbly applicator.
- Lasts only for 2-3 hours.
- False claims.
- Takes a lot of time to dry.
- Sticky and feels heavy on the lips.

No! The shade is beautiful, but the staying power is really low.
