Today’s review is about Catrice Velvet Matt Smokey Eye Pencil 010 Please, Mauve Black.
Catrice is always attracting customers by integrating an applicator or something else to their product. That’s how I feel for Catrice Velvet Matt Smokey eye pencil. I normally create Smokey eye using my normal eyeshadow pallet. But this product appeared kind of handy and multipurpose.

Smoky and mysterious Smokey Eyes exert a special appeal. The Velvet Matte Smokey Eyes Pencils with semi-matt finish allowing diverse styles. The smooth texture is easy to apply on the eyelid and blind smoky with the integrated brush.

It has a black eye pencil on one side which is very soft in texture. It glides smoothly over the eyelids and the application was really easy. On the other side is the brush to blend. Normally after using black on the brush it needs a wash to prevent any black effect the next time you use the brush (for a different color). Since it is attached to the pencil I tend to use the brush only with this pencil. So I don’t need to wash the brush so often.
The pigmentation of the product is quite good. I could blend out the product with the integrated brush to create a soft haze on the eyelids. Of course the intensity can be increased by using more product. It is also possible to use it just as an eye shadow. I could use the product as an eyeliner too. It is very easy to apply and also correct. I could easily create a smoky-eye look within minutes using this product. But I had to make sure not to touch or rub my eye as the product is easily transferable. The product is not waterproof. I wear contact lenses and have been advised not to use waterproof makeup.
There are two things which I am not happy with regarding the product. The brush is good but could have been better, and with more bristles. Brush is little scare of bristles. Smudging would have been better with a thicker brush. One can also use a Q tip for smudging. By the end of the day the product tends to crease on the eyelids. In spite of using it with an eye shadow primer.

• Comes with integrated brush.
• Blends easily.
• Practical during travel (due to integrated brush).
• Can use the product both as eyeshadow or eyeliner, for a smoky-eye effect.
• Not expensive.
Cons of Catrice Velvet Matt Smokey Eye Pencil 010 Please, Mauve Black:
• Creases on the eyelids by end of the day.
• Integrated brush is a little scarce of bristles.

I like the pigmentation for smoked out look, which creates a sensual feel. But, not good enough if one is going to use it as it is, without smudging.
