My Take on Caudalie Crushed Cabernet Scrub:

Scrubbing face is one of my must do’s as a part of facial routine. I make sure to scrub at-least two-three times a week. Scrubbing is really important as it takes away the dead and dry skin leaving it feeling smooth and soft.

I have been using St. Ives apricot scrub and totally love how it works on my skin, but I decided to give Caudalie Crushed Cabernet a try as I have seen a lot of positive reviews and it is not as harsh on the skin compared to St.Ives.

Caudalie Crushed Cabernet Scrub

This product comes in a luxury looking tub packaging with a screw on lid. At the first glance, this scrub looks very thick and grainy, but once you blend it on the skin, it feels very smooth. Standing true to the claims, this scrub seems to be a little on the oily side, so it leaves a slight glow on the face without being harsh on the skin and doesn’t leave the face feeling irritated and ripped off from natural moisture.  But if you are using this scrub as a face wash, it may not remove the oils from the face, so I use it as a second step in my cleansing routine if I’m using this scrub during the day.

Caudalie Crushed Cabernet Scrub

I love how this scrub feels on the skin except for the way it smells. It claims to be a spa/therapeutic scrub, so it has a strong funky smell that is hard to explain. It smells somewhat like lemon grass and ginger mixed with some oils!! Some people love the fragrance, but I’m not a huge fan. I wish it had more aromatic fragrance to give a complete spa-like feel.

Caudalie Crushed Cabernet Scrub

Pros of Caudalie Crushed Cabernet Scrub:

  • Classy packaging.
  • Granules are chunky but very soft on the skin.
  • This scrub isn’t harsh and doesn’t leave the skin feeling irritated and red.
  • It doesn’t rip off the natural oils on the skin and leaves a subtle glow making it feel smoother and moisturized.
  • Comes in a huge tub, a little goes a long way, so this product lasts a long time.

Cons of Caudalie Crushed Cabernet Scrub:

  • It has a strong funky smell to it.
  • Quite expensive.
  • May not work very well for people trying to achieve an oil-free skin after scrubbing the face.

I love how this product feels on the skin. It is definitely a luxury product. I wish it had an aromatic fragrance to it as the funky smell makes me not use it too often. I may not repurchase this product considering the huge price tag and other scrubs can perform very much similar to this in a fraction of price.

    1. Thank you Sonia …. I used chemical exfoliators while I had acne issues, they made my skin very dry and flaky *headbang* *scared* .. Hope they work fine for you 😀

  1. It looks positively yummy! I think I get the funky smell you’re referring to. 🙂 The Caudalie Beauty Elixir has a kind of herbal scent not common in face mists.

    1. Ida – this product is awesome .. I think most of the caudalie products have this weird scent as they are intended to give a spa like feel !! But surprisingly Caudalie cleansing water has a very pleasant scent .. I’ll review it soon 🙂 🙂

  2. It looks good from your review…I heard about this brand in one of Lisa Elridge’s videos….wish to try this now…. 🙂 🙂
