Caudalie Moisturizing Toner Review

Caudalie Moisturizing Toner Review

Hi Beauties,

In my series of skin care product reviews, today I will be reviewing a toner. Toners are very important in the CTM process, and are often ignored by many, out of sheer laziness or a failure to understand their basic importance, and also often due to certain misconceptions. After the cleansing step, either with a milk based or cream based or oil-based cleanser, the skin’s pH is disturbed. Toner helps to bring the pH of skin back to normal.  Toner also helps in removing any makeup remnants, which may have been left after the cleansing process. In addition, a toner helps in proper absorption of the next product into the skin; which may either be a serum or a moisturizer.

Caudalie Moisturizing Toner

A toner should be chosen with a serious look into its ingredients.  Acne-prone skin will benefit by a toner which contains salicylic acid. An oily skin might get some help using a toner containing alcohol. For dry skin, alcohol containing toners should be avoided, to prevent further drying of skin. Similarly, sensitive skin gets help if the toner does not contain many chemicals in it. Whatever toner you choose, it should be effective in getting rid of your remnant makeup, while also helping the skin maintain its pH balance and integrity in the meanwhile.

The toner I am reviewing today, is mainly for normal to dry and sensitive skin types, or any other skin types which tends to get dry and dehydrated (as in winters), and needs some help for optimum moisturisation. My skin type is normal to combination, which tends to get dry in winters. Alcohol-containing toners tend to dry out my skin, even in summers, hence I am always on the lookout for mild and gentle, alcohol-free toners.

Price:

I got it online for 13 GBP (including shipping), for 200 ml product. It is also available in 100 ml and 400 ml versions.

My Experience with Caudalie Moisturizing Toner:

The product comes in a white color plastic bottle which comes with a dispensing pump. The pump can be turned to “Open” and “Stop” positions. This helps in proper dispensing of product, while also making it travel friendly.  I have heard that this product used to come in a green colored bottle earlier (just like the Caudalie Instant Foaming Cleanser), but has been recently changed to this present packaging. Grapes are very good antioxidants and Caudalie uses the entire grape plant in the making of their skin care products; which I am totally enjoying.

Caudalie Moisturizing Toner

The toner itself is just like water – transparent and extremely light weight. It has a very soothing, herbal fragrance, which I just love. One to two pumps of the product is enough for soaking one cotton pad, which in turn is enough for your face and neck area. It may also be applied by just patting it using your hands directly on to the skin.

Caudalie Moisturizing Toner

It spreads and absorbs quite easily into the skin. It is extremely mild, but is still effective in removing any traces of makeup, including waterproof makeup. It does not leave any tacky or sticky sensation on the skin. It leaves your face feeling extremely refreshed and clean and soft, with a mild herbal fragrance. It can be applied to any part of your face, including the eye area, without any irritation at all. It has not broken me out at all, even in this humid season. In fact, it hydrates my skin very well, and my skin is left perfectly ready for the next step of moisturization.  It is extremely gentle for morning time use; and extremely effective for use at the end of the day. I have fallen totally in love with this toner, and I love how clean and hydrated my skin feels after using this toner.
