Caudalie Pamplemousse Rose Hand & Nail Cream Review

I am not a hand cream person. Most of the time it’s sunscreen on my hands and I am too lazy to layer a hand cream below that. But on occasions where I skip the sunscreen (indoor functions, night outings and the like), I slather on some hand cream. Here is another product from the French brand Caudalie inspired by the beautiful vineyards of Paris. Let me pour a glass of wine before beginning this review.

My experience with Caudalie Pamplemousse Rose Hand & Nail Cream:

I had been using TBS hand creams prior to this. But the metallic tube always leaked in my handbag. (Am I the only one who has faced such an issue? :-S) Though that caused my bag to smell great (:P), it was messy. So I decided to try this brand. Caudalie is born out of vineyards and their love for grapes shows in this product as well. It is formulated with grape seed oil and has pink grapefruit. The cream is really light and absorbs quickly, and doesn’t leave my hands sticky or oily. It is perfect when you notice during the day that your hands are dry and you need some quick moisturisation. Even my nails looked nourished. It is not at all rich and so this is not your bet if you want a cream for your overnight nourishment or during winters.

Pamplemousse is French for grapefruit. I usually love citrusy fragrances but I don’t like the smell of this one. It is definitely not artificial but it reminds me of stale fruits mixed with body lotions :|. It is not sour, it is not sweet, it is almost rotten. Probably what you pay for having natural fragrances. There is nothing light or fresh about it like the usual citrus bursts. It stays on for some time and I just wait for that fragrance to go. The only thing I didn’t like about this cream!

It is packed in a silver foil tube that is plastic-y and shiny with red and green floral accents (TBS hand cream packaging was in a foil tube that was metal-y causing it to break). They come in a perfect size for my handbag- very sleek & compact.

Pros of Caudalie Pamplemousse Rose Hand & Nail Cream:

• A good hand cream for daytime and summers
• Very light formula
• Doesn’t leave a greasy residue
• Compact travel friendly tube
• Moisturises hands and nails for a good 2-3 hours

Cons of Caudalie Pamplemousse Rose Hand & Nail Cream:

• Not a fan of the smell – smells like rotten citrus fruit
• Not rich enough for nights or winters
