Caudalie Polyphenol C15 Anti-Wrinkle Eye and Lip Cream Review

Hello gals,

Hope you are doing fine and gearing up for the upcoming fall season and the festive season soon after! I am also a lot into skin care these days; after all clean and clear skin is the key to staying beautiful, isn’t it? 😛 As I am in my late 20s, I have already started with eye care targeting the first signs of ageing and also taking care of my weird oily skin concerns. Talking about anti-ageing skin care, without polyphenols, antioxidant talk is incomplete. Talking about polyphenols, it reminds me of my first anti-ageing brand “Caudalie.” Yes gals, Caudalie is one brand that’s dedicated to anti-ageing products and this brand has almost everything, right from eye-lip care to skin care for every skin type. I have tried many of their products and find them quite effective as they have transformed my flaky, dull skin to young skin.  However, not all products live up to the hype, but still they work satisfactorily for the price we pay.  This Caudalie polyphenol eye cream is not the best eye cream that I have come across from this brand, but still, it works really well.  So, let’s read more about Caudalie Polyphenol C15 anti-wrinkle Eye and Lip Cream!

What it is formulated to do:
Don’t let fine lines turn into wrinkles. This eye and lip cream smoothes the appearance of wrinkles with matrixyl 3000, a powerful ingredient that nearly doubles the production of collagen. The unique combination of grape-seed polyphenols and vitamin C ester protects skin against wrinkle-causing free radicals and keeps your skin plump, youthful-looking, and smooth. Apply 360 degrees around the eye and lip area for maximum benefits.

My Take on Caudalie Polyphenol C15 Anti-Wrinkle Eye and Lip Cream:

The eye cream comes in an opaque dark green plastic tube packaging with a long spout opening with a safe secure lock cap. It does have mild fragrance but it does not bother much. I find it quite an user-friendly, hygienic and travel-friendly packaging.

The bright white eye cream is slightly liquid in texture, though it maintains its viscosity and is not runny in consistency. It also means that a small drop goes a long way to work on the eye and lip contour as it is not like gel or lotion, but feels more like a liquid cream on my skin.  It spreads easily with finger tips, but it does need time to get absorbed on my skin leaving behind a dewy hydrated look which might be a plus point for dry skin beauties while those with oily and combination skin types have to dab powder during day time.

Personally, I am not a fan of dewy look as I am more of a matte lover, but considering the fall season, I can live with it as my skin becomes less oily in winters. I don’t need this cream for my lip contour as my face cream takes care of it plus the dewy look it imparts is a concern.

Talking about its positive points, I feel that it did help me wake up with less puffy and more fresh and younger-looking skin every morning.  I also see that it literally locked my first signs of ageing. I mean it will anyway take time to smooth out my existing signs of ageing, but I haven’t noticed any new fine lines around my sensitive eye area and that is impressive man! At least, I had to only take care of my existing concerns and not any new concerns, thankfully!

In fact, I had mentioned it earlier too that I do see a problem area over my brow bone (which might be the results of ageing skin and frequent eyebrow threading).  This cream has made the skin over there a bit taut. Moreover, I had also talked about my Vegas trip and the changing weather, which took a toll on my skin, but my eyes were the only part on my face which showed no effect.  Yes, this eye cream helped me combat the effects of changing weather and irregular sleep pattern.  I used to wake up with a number of zits on my face, but I never woke up with a single crow’s feet or puffy eyes, sounds amazing, right?! Say touchwood!

My only concern with this eye cream is that it leaves a dewy finish on my skin, around the eye area, and over my eyelids, which requires powder touch-ups quite frequently. That is the reason I have limited its usage to only night time while I apply Forest Essentials Moisturizer during day time, which works for my eyes well. I mean I can see that it works overnight on my eye area and as a result, I am fine with a gentle touch of any basic moisturizer or sunscreen over my eyes.  My eyes look fresh and well rested even with no eye cream during day time. Now that winters are approaching, I would use it during day time as well.

I cannot swear by their claim of clearing dark circles because I have no such concerns thankfully, though it does help with fluffy under eye bags equally well. Other than this, I will definitely recommend this eye cream to every beauty, especially if you suffer from dryness around eyes and/or need effective treatment for those fine lines around eyes without making them prominent further.

Personally, I might get it again if it works well at daytime for my oily skin.

Let’s sum up pros and cons:

Pros of Caudalie Polyphenol C15 Anti-Wrinkle Eye and Lip Cream:

  • A lightweight eye and lip contour cream formulated with beneficial polyphenols antioxidants and vitamin C.
  • It is formulated without parabens, phthalates, and sulfates.
  • A semi-liquid texture, which easily spreads on the skin with finger tips.
  • Does not leave behind a dewy moisturized finish which is a plus for dry skin beauties.
  • Did help me combat the effects of fluctuating weather and irregular sleep pattern.
  • Woke up with less puffy eyes with well rested, fresh, glowing eye area.
  • Does not accentuate my oily skin concerns.
  • Helps in locking up the first signs of ageing and prevents new lines from developing.
  • Also helps in preventing under eye puffs and circles.
  • Definitely made my eye area more younger than before without causing any breakouts or irritating my eye area.
  • Hygienic, user friendly, and travel-friendly packaging.

Cons of Caudalie Polyphenol C15 Anti-Wrinkle Eye and Lip Cream:

  • Ideally, it is more suitable for normal and dry skin types.
  • Takes a lot of time to get absorbed into the skin.
  • Leaves behind a dewy look.
  • Might take some time to show effective results on existing signs of ageing such as crow’s feet, laugh lines, and saggy skin around eyes.
  • Loaded with a number of chemicals.

Well, I have come across many good effective eye creams which work more or less similar to this eye cream and as an added advantage they don’t leave any dewy finish hence I might skip it for summers.
