Bourjois Cendre de Rose Brune Blush

Yes, this is my very first Bourjois blush and I must say that I have been dreaming about them every single night. The whole pretty pot, the baked technology bit, and the colors make me go weak in my knees.  I am still not able to decide which one to buy because all of them, shimmer, matte, pearly, or brown look so good that I say to myself “I will make it work for me, no problem.”

But this one, Cendre de Rose Brune, was love at first sight. This is the perfect pink any girl can have, matte soft rose, doll pink and super light and lovely and so natural for my complexion.  I am already researching on what I want next from their blush range.

This particular shade is absolutely matte, soft pink, which really brightens the face up for me.  I had been looking for a soft plumy-pink shade like the Estee Lauder blush I had reviewed in the past, but this seemed like the next best thing to me.

The shade is very flattering for fair to medium skin tones and I still think this will suit all Indian skin tone because this kind of pink goes so soft and matte that most of us can make it work for our skin tones.

Matte blushes are the best to be used for day time when shimmer is something we don’t want to use under the sun or indoors.  This blush has just that kind of pink, easy to blend, light, soft and natural.

Now, there is one trouble that I am having with this blush.  I did not find it as pigmented as I was hoping for. Perhaps my expectation from Bourjois blush and eyeshadows were sky high and all the baked technology thing made me drool, but when I actually swatched it on, I did not find much color, neither powder nor much color.

This blush has to be used lightly for making it look natural and hence I can make do with the very average pigmentation, but here is the catch! If I use it lightly without base, this won’t last me long either. So maybe, you can pack it on, on some cream blush to make it last, but as for me, I am okay using it lightly and touching up again.

The pot is matte signifying the matte product and the brush inside is very useful for me.  I like how broad it is and I actually use it for a lighter sweep of color.  The cute mirror in the lid is very useful too for checking up on the eye makeup, if not cheek makeup 😛 Something that really won me over is the soft and rosy fragrance that the blush has.  I was very surprised when I applied the blush and was freshened up by a soft and rosy smell that lasted only during the application.

Last Word:

The color is to die for!  This is a very good pink for Indian skin tones.  The usable brush and the soft rose fragrance also make the experience delightful.  The pigmentation could have been better for sure, but I don’t mind this as a natural, matte, daytime blush. I highly recommend the color!
