Chambor #05 Indulgent Bordeaux Extreme Matte Longwear Lipcolour Review

I am pretty late on getting on to this fabulous range launched by Chambor a while back. Now that the summers are here, I am more into matte lipsticks and they are here to stay as my favorites for a while. The shade for review today is Indulgent Bordeaux, 05, which is a pretty intense shade in my stash. Read on to know how it fared for me.

My experience with Chambor #05 Indulgent Bordeaux Extreme Matte Longwear Lipcolour:

The outer paper carton has all details about the product including ingredients and shade number. The dates of manufacturing and expiry are also mentioned along with the price of the product. The shade number is mentioned on the box on a color coded base but I would not say the coding is exactly same as the shade of the lipstick. The body of the lip crayon is same as that of the particular shade of the lipstick. No doubt it is a pro in terms of packaging as you can identify the shade in a jiffy if you have more than one from the same range. The cap is transparent plastic which fits in snugly but does not give the “click” assurance; so I am a bit careful while carrying it my makeup pouch.

The texture of the lip color is really smooth and does not tug or pull the lips at all while application. I have normal lips, so I tend to skip the lip balm to give the extreme matte effect. Those with dry lips have to soften the lips beforehand with a lip balm. It is always advisable to exfoliate the lips before applying a matte lip color and this shade being true matte and intense at the same time, will not be forgiving in terms of flaking or chapping.

The drawback of the lip color is that you have to sharpen the pencil and it is not a twist up form, which leads to product wastage. But those who like sharpen-able pencils would quite like this concept. Any cosmetic sharpener does the job pretty well.

The shade is a rich pinkish maroon with purple undertones. There is a wee bit of shimmer to the shade which is not at all gritty or visible for that matter. It only adds to the glam of the shade. On initial application the lip color is creamy but after a while it settles to a matte color and stays on for a pretty long time. With tea/coffee in between, it lasted me for about 6 hours without any lip liner. But there is a bit of dryness after 2-3 hours. You need to keep a lip balm handy to take care of the issue.

This is overall a nice range from Chambor and though this is not exactly my kind of shade but I quite like the matte formulation in general and the color for evenings in particular. If you are a matte lover, do give this range a try, you will get a shade of your choice am sure.
