Chambor Cosmetic Pencil Sharpener Review

Chambor Cosmetic Pencil Sharpener Review

I wanted to review this cosmetic sharpener from Chambor since the time I purchased it.  Recently, there was a review on the Faces sharpner.  So, I thought of sharing my views on this sharpener.  Hope this review helps you ladies.

Chambor Cosmetic Pencil Sharpener Review

Price:

Rs. 175

Since my school days, I have been bad at sharpening pencils and I am worse at sharpening my cosmetics.  I bought this sharpener along with the Chambor eye shadow crayon.  The eyeshadow pencil was fat and I had to buy a proper sharpener specifically meant for cosmetics. The SA suggested me to take this cosmetic sharpener which had two sharpening slots, a small one and a jumbo one.

The sharpener is made of Navy blue plastic body and stainless steel blades, square in shape. Both the sharpening slots are on the same side.

I am using this sharpener for the last 5 months and I am happy with it.  Be it the small tip lip liners, kajal, eye liner pencil or the jumbo pencil, the sharpening is perfect.

The blades are sharp enough for a smooth sharpening.  One thing that I don’t like about this sharpener is cleaning of the blades. The tips tend to stick to the blades while you sharp and its not so easy to clean them out.

Even in the pictures, you can see the pieces of the tips. I’m unable to remove it off the blades fully.

Pros of Chambor Cosmetic Pencil Sharpener:

  • Dual slots incorporated into a single piece.
  • Meant exclusively for cosmetic pencils and does the job perfectly.
  • Easy to carry around.

Pencil Sharpener 5

Cons of Chambor Cosmetic Pencil Sharpener:

  • Slightly over priced when compared to other brands like Faces/Lakme.
  • No covering case or pouch.
  • Difficult to remove the broken tips from the blades.

Do I Recommend Chambor Cosmetic Pencil Sharpener?

No, I am actually planning to buy another one, probably the one from Faces Cosmetics.  I can’t wait till the blades go blunt.  This sharpener is not a must have. There are other brands which have a similar product, much better at a lower price. If there had been provision for easy cleaning of blades, it would have been good, but if you are brand conscious , and don’t mind about the difficulty in cleaning the blades, then go for it!

  1. All cosmetics company should start making twist-up mechanism products only, sharpener is such a waste of time and expensive makeup goes in dustbin. I never get good tip.

    1. You much be in love with shaving frills of it…. I used to like making long shaving frills and collecting them as a kid, but not now, as makeup is expensive (my hard earned money).
      🙁

  2. I just bought this sharpener on my recent trip to Chennai! Its amazing and works so well with all pencils. Price has increased to Rs295 thoughn *pan* But it’s worth it!!
