Chambor Flowing Lipstick Plum Rose Review, Swatch

Chambor Flowing Lipstick Plum Rose

Hi Friends,

I am back again with yet another lipstick from Chambor. I believe Chambor has the best colors when it comes to term with dusky Indian Skin Tones, hence I simply get drawn towards them like a moth towards light. This time it’s from their flowing Lipstick range No. 254 in Plum Rose. Actually I was out to get a matte powder lipstick but could not find one in brown that would suit my lips and got this one instead. This is my first flowing Lipstick and is priced at Rs 550 for 4 ml.

Chambor has a say for their Flowing Lipstick Range:

A chic, attractive metallic packaging with a transparent centre is now the Flowing lipstick for you. With a simple twist, the brush-tipped fluid lipstick allows for precise and easy application encompassing the creaminess of a solid lipstick. The stay-on formula perfects the hold of colour on the lips making it transfer proof and untraceable on an exterior surface. With less touch-ups, a feather-weight texture and more shades to choose from, Chambor’s ‘Flowing Lipstick Stay-on Colour’ is a must have beauty accessory packaged with elegance and poise.

What my first impression was:
I wasn’t so impressed when I first saw it and was a bit skeptical about making the purchase. It comes in a metallic steel casing with a transparent band in between for the color. Looks like a pen with a brush on applicator. The cap is a pull out one like in ball pens and has a rotating end. It works upon a similar philosophy like in roller crayon where upon rotating the end the colors come out. Now this was really impressive.

Color and application:
I was looking for something in brown for my pigmented lips so the sales person suggested giving this a try. The color in the see through band appears to be a chocolate brown as in Cadbury’s dairy milk and it even smells like one. Now who doesn’t love Dairy Milk so I just had to get it. Upon rotating the end the lipstick flows into the brush at the top just like melted chocolate and then can be directly applied to the lips. Just make sure you apply it and don’t get tempted enough to eat. LOL

Now back to the product, the pigmentation is really good and just with a swipe the color sets in. The brush applicator is very soft and velvety and very easy to use, you simply don’t need another brush to apply these. Initially these give a glossy look but takes about 15-20 minutes to get absolutely dried and give a matte look. Upon initial application only the glossy color is seen, but when dried you can see slight particles in gold mixed too.

The lasting power is very good, about 6-7 hours with and without meals. Does not smudge or transfer on to anything and is water proof. I have tried by applying on my hand and washing them but still the color remained. After several washes it does start to fade but you need a makeup remover to get it off completely.

Key Ingredients:
• Jojoba Oil which Nourishes & Moisturizes the lips throughout the day.

Cons of Chambor Flowing Lipstick: Plum Rose
1. You simply cannot see the amount of fluid that comes into the brush and have to be careful while rotating. Maximum 5 tik- tik sounds are enough after first application.
2. The color after getting dried looks pretty different than when first applied.

Would I repurchase: Of course yes but would try other shades too. I love its non-transfer quality. Simply doesn’t transfer to glasses, cups or even clothes and you can kiss anything without a second thought. So all girls and ladies out there for once “GET KISS READY” with any one of these. 🙂

  1. i love the color and this concept of rotating it and then using the brush is tempting me. i am definitely going to try this range. thanks for the review Neha 🙂

        1. Thank you Rati. Today he had celebrations in School so plans for a party tomorrow with his friends and close relatives. Turned 5 today. Just looking back, kids grow up pretty fast.:)

    1. Yup Rama, this one is a complete brown and I was looking for a similar one. I don’t rem’ber any mauves or pinks but there certainly were reds and maroons. I think they have only very dark shades in this category

    1. You can try other colors in this range. I really liked the concept of Flowing Lipstick and if you are a matte lover. Its an additional advantage.

    1. I agree monika, most of the names in Chambor are always misleading. The shade is never as near to their names at all. If you are at a Chambor counter always test the shade before purchasing

  2. I am not a huge fan of brown lipsticks. I like my reds, peaches and pinks more. :)) But looks lovely on you and lipstick definitely looks promising. 🙂

    1. Thank you Rati for the compliment and you look gorgeous, stunning and fabulous in your reds, peaches and pinks. And I don’t think browns would look good on you either. 😉
