Chambor Loose Powder Kohl in Blue Review

What is the first thing that comes to our mind when we hear the word “kohl.”  Kajal or surma and we have been associated with them since we were born. Some parents use them to enrich the eyes, widen the eyes or as a dot on the forehead to keep away the effects of evil eyes.  Till now, I had always used it in a pencil and a tub form to highlight my eyes and kajal is by far amongst one of the most common cosmetic products used worldwide irrespective of age, class, complexion or skin type.

A few months ago, while shopping through a store of Chambor products, I came across this product, “Chambor Loose Kohl Powder” and out of curiosity, bought it.  Its available in two colors, Black and Blue, I got the Blue one.

Price:

Rs. 350 for 1.9 grams.

Product Description:

Loose Kohl Powder is Chambor’s Innovation. It is a loose, ultra fine powder which helps create a mysterious look for eyes.  This modern kohl is both sophisticated, thanks to the object itself and simple, because it is easy to use. It has the same texture as an oriental kohl.  A loose, ultra-fine powder for a smouldering, intense and mysterious look for the eyes. Suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.

Ingredients:

Blue Kohl 1

What Chambor has to say:

  • Two – In – One effect: Can be used both as Eyeliner and Eye Shadow.
  • The modern Kohl is both sophisticated and simple because it is easy to use.
  • Water Resistant: Long Lasting Effect.
  • Vitamin Enriched: Vitamin – E and A.
  • No Animal Ingredients.
  • Non – Comedogenic: Does not contain irritating ingredients that might block the pores resulting in an increase in acne in some people.

Packaging:

As the name implies, its a powdery substance and comes in a small, transparent, plastic bottle with a silver-colored cap and comes with a wand to get the product out like in nail polishes and a smudger tip applicator. You can see the dust like-substance inside the bottle that settles down when shaken.

Color:

Blue Kohl 2

The color looks bluish-grey inside the bottle, but gives a subtle hint of green with blue when applied and has a metallic effect. According to the SA, it’s a wonderful product for those who desire to get that smokey effect and its true. You simply do not need to blend in a lot (the most important aspect for getting a smokey effect).  Due to its ultra-fine quality and smudger tip applicator, blending becomes easy and gives a smooth blended effect. You can get the desired dark and light shades simply by using less or more of the loose kohl.

What I Like about Chambor Loose Powder Kohl in Blue:

  • Cute little packaging, travel friendly and can fit in anywhere.
  • Blends in very easily without much effort due to its ultra fine quality.
  • Has a metallic shine and effect.
  • A very little amount is required and it will last for a long time (hope it doesn’t outgrow one’s love for smokey eyes).
  • Water resistant and not heavy on the lids.
  • Great for those with sensitive eyes (I belong to that category) and safe for contact lens wearers.

What I Do Not Like about Chambor Loose Powder Kohl in Blue:

  • Doesn’t last for too long, but fades out evenly.
  • The price is a bit high for a single color.
  • Available in only two colors, though these colors are the most sought after.
  • The applicator is just okay, but could have been better.
  • I wouldn’t use it as an eyeliner as suggested because it can be applied only in a thick line and even that smudges, it is better to be used as an eye shadow.

Do I Recommend Chambor Loose Powder Kohl in Blue?

Those who happen to love single colors, can give it a try, but I would prefer adding in a few more bucks and getting an eye palette with more than a single shade.  I do not need to repurchase, as this is going to last for a long time.

  1. Thank you everyone, I was just not certain about doing an eotd as it would be my first time and secondly couldn’t get anyone for self pictures, sorry frens, surely next time.

  2. I guess the applicator totally does not do any justice to what the product is. A surma kinda sleek thing i feel should have been nicer. I like the color however. 🙂

    1. You are right Rati the applicator is no good. I use a brush to get the desired effect and its really awesome. The reason i got it was because of the color and is really worth it

  3. Thanks a lot for the review..I applied it at the store n it looked fab as en eyeliner at tht time n the SA had almost convinced me to buy it but then somehow I thought would buy it when someone revierws it on imbb and here I get the review 🙂 Thanks!
