Chambor Orosa Black Defining 10h Eyeliner Pencil Review

Bitten by the Orosa bug, I picked up two shades of liner from this range – one black and the other blue (review coming up soon). I had high hopes from these liners as I quite liked the “Orosa” range in general. Read on to know whether I liked “#01 Black” or not.

product description

My Experience with Chambor Orosa Black Defining 10h Eyeliner Pencil:

The outer red and rose gold packaging remains the same all throughout the range. The details about the product is mentioned on the outer paper carton. The eyeliner pencil is color coded, black in this case, with rose gold detailing. The plastic body pencil twists up and down unlike the “Dazzle” range which doesn’t twist back in. The cap shuts with a click and hence very easy and handy to carry in the makeup pouch.

packaging

I am hugely disappointed by the texture of this pencil. I do not know if I got a defective piece, but it just doesn’t move on the lid. It is so dry that I have to put some extra pressure on the lid. Also, the pigmentation is low, so one swipe does not give enough color. A minimum of two swipes are required to make the intensity right. It is definitely not a single stroke eyeliner, but one silver lining in the dark cloud is that it stays on the waterline for more than 4 hours without smearing or fading. Now, that is something we kohl lovers are crazy about!

tip

Coming to this particular shade, it is semi matte black; there is no shimmer but there is a bit of sheen to the shade. I do not like the texture on the lid, so I try to limit the use only on the waterline. It stays really long there, maybe due to the dry texture, it doesn’t move or fade that easily from the waterline.

swatch on hand

The staying power, as I have already mentioned, is great on the waterline and on the lid as well; I avoid using it as an eyeliner due to the parched texture, but it stays on the lid as long as it is not removed with a makeup remover. On the waterline, it stayed on for 4 hours without any fading or smudging which is great, but again, Faces Magneteyes and Lotus Colorkick works just as fine at a much lower price tag and smoother texture; so this is a NO-NO from me.
