Skin Tone- Medium, NC42, warm undertones
Here’s another shade from the Chambor Orosa lipstick range up for review – it’s a unique shade called “Violet Valentine.” Violet lip colors are difficult to pull off since such shades have milky undertones to them. Read on for more details on “Violet Valentine.”
My Experience with Chambor Orosa Violet Valentine #558 Lip Perfection Lipstick:
The packaging of this lipstick stole my heart. The gorgeous red outer paper carton with the detailed information and the rose-gold bullet is “oh-so-gorgeous.” It looks absolutely luxurious with the name and number at the base of the lipstick. The outer carton does not have the name of the color though, I don’t know why. The cap shuts with a click and hence it’s quite convenient to carry this lipstick in the makeup pouch. I have heard people complaining about the bullet coming off from the base, but thankfully, I did not face any such issue.
“Violet Valentine” lipstick is a mix of baby pink color and lavender with milky undertones. It has a tendency to look ashy if worn without makeup. For my skin tone, I like to wear it as a stain as that helps in not looking completely washed out.
This shade goes very well with smokey blue eye makeup and dusty rose blush.
The texture of this lipstick is every “creamy lipstick lover’s” dream come true. It glides on the lips like butter and the creaminess takes care of the dry patches on the lips, if any. It is very forgiving in terms of the texture. The pigmentation is wow, one swipe gives enough color to cover pigmentation on the lips; two swipes would just be gorgeous. The color feels light on the lips and there is no need of a lip liner beneath.
The staying power depends on the food/fluid intake. It lasted on me for more than 4 hours without any fading, but with only water sips. When I munch some snacks, it starts fading evenly from the middle of the lower lip. As the texture is so beautiful, I do not mind reapplying. Also, there is a mild minty feel to the lips on initial application which lasts for about a minute or two.
