Chambor Powder Matte Lipstick: Orange Flambe

Today, I’ll be reviewing the result of my long search for an orange lipstick, “Chambor Powder Matte in 167: Orange Falmbe.”

What Chambor has to say:

‘’An Innovative Formulated Lipstick which has both Moisturizer + Matte Effect in it. Powder Matte Lipsticks have a Non-Drying Triple Action Formula which:
1. Hydrates – Vitamin A and Jojoba Oil.
2. Protects from the sun – UVA & UVB Filters (SPF – 15).
3. Has anti-ageing formula which softens & smoothens the lips – Vitamin E.

I had been looking for a good orange lipstick for a while and I had narrowed down to Chambor and Revlon. I finally ended picking this up at the nearby Lifestyle counter. I prefer matte lipsticks over glossy ones, but I’ve always found them a little drying.

Price:

INR 410 for a quantity of 4.5 gm.

Packaging:

It comes in a dark blue cardboard box and the body is a matte dark blue with a silver tube, nothing very interesting.

Beware, this shade is not for the faint hearted.  The lipstick looks a dark orange, almost red.  It glides on easily, especially considering its a matte lipstick. It gives an almost opaque orange finish. I know the colour looks a little washed out in the swatches, but it looks like a perfect orange on my lips. It manages not to look out of place despite my dusky complexion and gives opaque colour to my pigmented lips.

The staying power is reasonable enough for me (about three hours despite eating) because I nibble on my lips sometimes (I know it’s a horrible habit and I’m trying to stop), and leaves behind a stain.  It is a little drying, so you could use a lip balm under it.

• A good orange lipstick in terms of colour.
• Staying power is adequate.
• Reasonably priced according to the quantity, since it’s not an everyday colour, it’ll last for a long time.
• Gives a good, opaque, matte finish.

Cons of Chambor Powder Matte Lipstick:  Orange Flambe:

• The shade might not suit all skin tones.
• The matte finish can be a little drying.
