Chanel Double Perfection Natural Matte Powder Makeup Review
By Mansi Limbachia
Hello all you beautiful people,
I am going to be reviewing the Chanel Double Perfection Compact Powder in Tender Bisque. I bought this product without any testing or reviewing, trusting the name Chanel, plus I was in a hurry, I had a flight to catch for India. It hurts me to say, I kind of regret buying this, since I worship Coco Chanel.
The flawless matte finish you want effortlessly. Superlight, long-lasting wet/dry SPF 10 formula. Soft, smooth texture ensures easy application for a naturally radiant, matte complexion. Light-reflecting pigments minimize the appearance of lines. Apply to face with wet or dry sponge. Smooth evenly from center outwards. Oil Free.
Titanium Dioxide 3.8%
The compact is really cute. The case is simple black; with the statement Chanel sign right in the middle. The compact inside is divided in half, one side for the powder pan and the other side for the sponge. The powder pan can be detached, there is a small button in the inner corner of the compact that you have to gently press and the square case holding the powder will pop out. I think it’s for refilling.
What I Claim about Chanel Double Perfection Natural Matte Powder Makeup:
If worn on bare skin:
This powder is really soft and pigmented. It does an amazing job of hiding unevenness. It glides on skin very smoothly. It makes your skin look luminous. If I have been home all day looking like a zombie and then suddenly something comes up and I have to go out, all I have to do is quickly apply this, and my face just brightens up like Christmas morning.
It covers up my heavily pigmented lids, and almost covers my dark circles. I could double this as a light foundation, and I wouldn’t need concealer or anything, plus it has SPF 10. But! Here comes the major setback for some people. I have dry skin, and my skin becomes very flakey around my nose and eye area. And even though I put enough lotion on my skin, this powder somehow enhances the flakiness, and makes my skin look dried out and chalky in that certain area. I have tried a lot of compact powders, from MAC Studio Fix to Lancôme Dual Finish, but I have never had such problem with any. Maybe it’s because this powder has a matte finish, and a really light, powdery texture.
If used to set foundation:
If I use this to set my foundation, then it’s a whole different story. It leaves a flawless finish to my face. It actually keeps my makeup long lasting, nearly the whole day. It makes my face look luminous, super soft, and almost like I have celebrity skin. I would suggest not using the sponge that they provide, if you’re going to be using it as a setting powder, use a kabuki brush, or powder brush.
Another thing, I would suggest is not to apply too much of this powder at night, if you’re going to be taking pictures, because it really makes your skin look pale and white in photographs.
Other than a few things, this is a really good powder. It really does give you that soft, smooth, naturally radiant skin. If I didn’t have dry skin, I would totally be in love with this.
Pros of Chanel Double Perfection Natural Matte Powder Makeup:
- Light, feathery, and smooth.
- SPF 10.
- Cute packaging.
- Leaves skin feeling soft.
- Brightens up your face.
Cons of Chanel Double Perfection Natural Matte Powder Makeup:
- Makes skin look dried out.
- Not for dry skin.
- May make you look like the bride of Frankenstein if used too much.
$50 (probably around Rs.2000-3000)
Would I Buy Chanel Double Perfection Natural Matte Powder Makeup Again?
No, I wouldn’t buy this again, because it doesn’t suit my skin; but I would definitely try other powders from Chanel.
