Chanel Eau Douceur Cleansing Water Review

Chanel Eau Douceur Cleansing Water Review

Hello Ladies,

Trust you all are having a fabulous day! It’s really pretty chilly here today with barely noticeable sunshine 🙁 I truly miss my Mumbai! So, today, I will be reviewing a makeup remover for all you lovely people on IMBB. It is none other than the Chanel Eaur Douceur Cleansing Water, and I have a lot to rave about this product, so let’s get straight into it!

Chanel Eau Douceur Cleansing Water

I was introduced to this product last year on a memorable shopping trip with my mother in Westfield. I used to wear foundations until last year and I wanted to try one from Chanel and so as usual I found myself being drawn into the magical counter of Chanel in Westfield London. The Sales Assistant was a lovely lady who even gave me a free foundation brush to take back with my newly purchased foundation. Well of course she had to, right? I purchased much much much more than just the foundation. I picked up 3 nail varnish, 2 lipsticks, my foundation, a serum for my face and this lovely makeup cleanser. As you all know, I am highly gullible with all these sales assistants and end up purchasing more than I usually anticipate (trust me, I always say no in my head, but I fall weak eventually.)

My Experience with Chanel Eau Douceur Cleansing Water:

Like I have always maintained, I have really sensitive skin, so I am really apprehensive while purchasing products for my face. It takes a lot of convincing for me to get convinced. So as freely as I pick up nail varnishes and lipsticks, I don’t have the same freedom while purchasing products that will go on my skin. So even with this, I was assured over and over again that I would not break out, post applying this cleanser. And luckily for me, the sales assistant used to work at Clarins prior to Chanel and she was fully aware of the products I was using on my face. This put me at relative ease as compared to initially.

The cleanser itself comes in a white 150 ml container, it comes as a pump, with a black color nozzle. The nozzle itself is pretty large in size and removes a decent amount amount of product, therefore we only need a pump of the product or maximum two during application. There is a black colored lid on top, with Chanel’s logo on the top, giving that extra luxurious look to it. It stands out in my bathroom cabinet and I truly love the whole look of the bottle. I know some people, consider the packaging cheap due to the brand it is associated with, but I like it, I think it is sturdy, practical and easy to travel with due to its plastic body. And since it is a large bottle with 150 ml product, it goes a long way.

While using the product, you might think you are applying water on your face if it was not for the smell. The product looks exactly like water once sprayed, but it has a lovely smell to it. I can’t exactly describe the smell, but once applied, you feel fresh, rejuvenated and moisturized. Like I said, I only take 1-2 pumps onto a cotton pad, depending on the amount of makeup I have on my face. I make use of two cotton pads, one for my eyes and one for my face and neck, generally while applying any sort of cleanser on my face. I love how it feels on my skin, it’s so lightweight, it glides so smoothly onto my face, gets rid of all the makeup with extreme ease, hydrates my skin and is very gentle to use. The sales assistant had also suggested that I could just use it as a toner as well after washing my face and let me tell you this, for months, I was practicing this step and for a while I had totally eliminated my Clarins toner (I started using it again because I like to change my routine sometimes). And ladies, those of you worrying about the breakouts like I was, there was NONE.  Since that was my major concern leaving me really excited and satisfied.

Chanel Eau Douceur Cleansing Water

I love love love this product! I am so glad I purchased it and I am on my second bottle now. It has the perfect balance of removing stubborn makeup as well as being a moisturizing toner.

If you ladies are seeking for a luxury product to clean your face and remove your makeup, that will also moisturize and hydrate your face. Then yes! 2. I bought the cleansing milk from a chanel counter about 6 weeks ago and I’ve been breaking out with it SO BAD.
I told the assistant I had normal/dry skin, so was dubious when she told me that the milk turned to oil as you massaged it into your skin.
However, she reassured me that it suited by skintype- WRONG.
I have emailed chanel requesting an exchange, but have never dealt with their customer service before, so don’t know what to expect.
Do you think this product would be more suited to my skin? I’m mostly dry with a few ‘normal’ areas, but I’m not scaly-dry, just slightly.
