My Experience with Chanel Illusion D’ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow – New Moon:
The Chanel Illusion D’ombre eyeshadow comes housed in a thick glass pot with a black twist up cap. The Chanel logo is engraved on the top of the cap and the name of the shade and product are printed at the bottom of the pot.
The shade New Moon is a beautiful plum coloured taupe shade with a lot of glitter particles in it. I think it will look stunning on a lot of skin tones. But, the eyeshadow looks more of a coppery taupe shade on my skin. I use this colour on my entire eyelid with a medium brown shade on the crease. This shade suits best for a night time party look since it has a lot of glittery particles. Generally, I don’t prefer wearing this eyeshadow for a daytime look.
The Chanel Illusion D’ombre eyeshadow has a unique texture. It feels slightly creamy yet powdery at the same time. Once applied, it sets into a powdery finish on my lids. However, it’s hard to apply this eyeshadow with a brush as I noticed a lot of fall outs from this one. I tend to use my fingers to apply this eyeshadow onto my lids. For a more intense look, I spray a little of the MAC Fix + spray onto my brush as it intensifies the colour really well. It blends easily and is very buildable as well.
The lasting power of the Illusion D’ombre is very good. I get 7 to 8 hours of wear time and it doesn’t fade away. I might not buy more glittery shades from this range since I get so much of fallout from this one! The shade is just perfect and I got a lot of compliments when I wore this eyeshadow. Overall, I love the shade!
