Last year, Chanel launched their new range of nail colours under the name, “Long wear” and I already own a few nail colours from the range. I like the colours and finish of these nail colors but, I was not very much impressed with their lasting power. But, this new range claims that they are long wearing so, to test that out, I picked up two shades from the range. The shade that I will be reviewing today is Rouge Essentiel. Packaging: The nail polish comes packaged in a square glass bottle with a black lid and the Chanel logo is printed on the top. Even the applicator has a Chanel logo. The brush has a curve which makes the application easier and precise. The name of the brand is printed on the front and the shade name is printed on the back of the bottle. Overall, the packaging looks classy and has a typical Chanel packaging.

Texture: The Chanel Le Vernis Long Wear Nail Colour in Rouge Essentiel is a stunning blue based red shade and would work for all skin tones. The nail color is highly pigmented and delivers full opacity in a single coat. I feel this range dries faster than the regular formula; it takes only a minute or two to dry completely. The formula is stunning, it gives a beautiful finish and glides on smoothly. It is not patchy like the nail colors from their older range.

Now, coming to the ‘Long Wear’ claim, I am glad these are long lasting than their regular line of nail colors. These last for 6 to 7 days on me where as the regular formula used to last only for 2 to 3 days. The Rouge Essential has a beautiful glossy finish and doesn’t require a top coat.
