Last year, Chanel launched their new range of nail colours using the term “Long wear”. As I own quite a few Chanel nail colours, I like the colours and finish of them, but I was not much impressed by their lasting power on the nails. But with this range, they claim that they are long-wearing. The shade that I will be reviewing today is “Turban”. Read on to find out if the claim is true.
LE VERNIS by CHANEL: A long-wear, protective nail polish with lasting shine designed to make vibrant colours dazzle. Long-wearing, extra-fine and ultra-shiny, each coat offers an absolutely even and lacquered result.
How to Use:
After washing your hands, file your nails and remove particles with a small KABUKI BRUSH. Wipe your nails clean with a cloth. Apply the BODY EXCELLENCE HAND CREAM. Push back your cuticles at the base and sides of the nail with an orange stick, then remove oil from the nail surface using a cotton pad moistened with nail polish remover. Apply a thin layer of LA BASE. Then apply a first layer of LE VERNIS, folllowed by a second coat – as thick as the first, for a more vivid colour.
My Experience with Chanel Le Vernis Longwear Nail Colour 524 Turban:
Packaging: The nail polish comes packaged in a square glass bottle closed with a black lid, on which the Chanel logo is printed on the top. Even the applicator has a Chanel logo on the top.
The brush has a curve to it which makes the application easier and precise. The name of the brand is printed on the front and the shade name is printed on the back of the bottle. Overall, the packaging look classy like other Chanel packaging.
Texture: The Chanel Le Vernis longwear nail colour in the shade “Turban” is a stunning summery coral shade and would work for light to medium skin tones. The nail color is highly pigmented and delivers full opacity in a single coat. I feel that this range dries faster than the regular formula and it takes only a minute or two to dry completely. The formula is stunning as it gives a beautiful finish and goes on smoothly. It is not patchy which few shades were from their older range.
Now coming on to the claim “long wear”, I am glad these are long-wearing than their regular line and these last 6 to 7 days on me where as the regular formula used to last only for 2 3 days. The finish of these nail colours are a really beautiful glossy finish and doesn’t require a top coat.
