Today is Bengali New Year, so “Shubho Naboborsho” to all of you. Just as I was excited to show you in one of my previous reviews my very first Bobbi Brown product, today I am thrilled to be showing you and reviewing my very first Chanel product, and something which is just up my street – sparkles! Please keep reading to know my experience with this product.
Gorgeous shimmer and a high-shine glow is delivered effortlessly to lips with just one stroke of this best-selling lip gloss. A wide range of shades, from sheer and natural to sparkling and rich, look beautiful on their own, or over your more favorite Chanel lipstick. Equally beautiful: the conditioning formula’s comfort, deep hydration and long wear. Can be used over favorite lipstick formula to enhance shimmer and high-shine glow and can be used on its own for an ultra-glossy and comfortably hydrated result.
My Experience with Chanel Levres Scintillantes Glossimer No. 108 Constellation:
This is a lip gloss filled with lots of multi-coloured sparkle in a translucent peach coloured gloss base. I can see gold, pink, blue, green and bronze coloured sparkles, and the sparkle/shimmer particles are very apparent and not subtle. Though the particles are not as big in size as the normal kind of glitter we usually see, they are quite visible to the naked eye.
The gloss comes in a long, rectangular-shaped container with a gold band towards the place where it twists open, and has a doe-foot sponge tip applicator with a black plastic cap. The outer packaging is a black cardboard box with white printing. Even though, as I mentioned, the sparkle is of reasonable and obvious size, this gloss felt smooth as silk on my lips, spread evenly and lusciously over my lips and I did not feel any grittiness whatsoever.
Worn on its own, it is eye-catching in itself, though the peach base goes on to look like a clear base, but worn over a lip liner or a lipstick, you can actually show off this gloss in all its glory as it’s super-shiny and shimmery. In the lip swatches, I have worn it over a pink n*de Chambor lip liner. I must say that even though I am not much of a gloss person and I love my rich, creamy matte lipsticks, now and then, these kind of glosses do call out my name and I am so glad I picked this up as I haven’t seen anything quite like it before.
I love to layer this over a magenta pink or deep berry coloured lipstick to make the lipstick pop and I also love layering it over lip liners. Like I said, the texture is super smooth and shiny and also suitable for sensitive lips, as it is fragrance-free. The sparkles spread easily and evenly on the lips and does not look patchy and you do not have to make an effort to “place” the shimmer where exactly you want it. This lasted on me for over 2 and a half hours and I did not need a touch up since I didn’t want to add more bling to the lips!
