I will be reviewing another lipstick today, which has been gifted so kindly to me by IMBB. I thank the entire team for this lovely gesture. While the range Rouge Coco is a few years old, the brand has revamped the entire range; as well as introduced new shades in this range. This range now has the family of Nu*es (Family); Reds (Lovers); Corals (Muses); Pinks (Best Friends) and Plums(Artists). Each shade is named after a special person in the life of Coco Chanel; and all the shades are sheer and hydrating. The shade Roussy belongs to the family of Pinks (Best Friends); and has another nine shades in the family.

The reinvented ROUGE COCO is more expressive than ever, in a new formula and vibrant colour spectrum, with shade names inspired by Coco Chanel’s closest friends. The bright lip colour features an exclusive complex with Jojoba and Mimosa Butters, Sunflower Wax and silicone for lasting hydration and luminous results.

My Experience With Chanel Rouge Coco Ultra Hydrating Lip Color #426 Roussy:

Packaging: The packaging is the same as the previous Rouge Coco lipsticks. They come in a shiny, black box packaging, which has all the details mentioned on it. The lipstick inside has a black opaque cover, with the shade name mentioned at the bottom. The lipstick case per se is simple, classy, with a gold band at the centre and the chanel insignia on it. It encases the bullet within.

Shade: This is a beautiful cool toned corally-pink shade. It has hints of both coral and pink in it; and who so ever is a bit hesitant over coral lipsticks, can carry this one off with ease. It has got a bit of micro shimmers in it, which does not translate on the lips, but is rather seen as a lovely, glossy sheen. It is an effortless shade, which you may pair with any sort of makeup, at any time of the day. Despite being cool toned, it does not clash with my warm toned skin.

Pigmentation: It is a medium pigmentation lipstick; which would need 2-3 swipes to show up properly on non-pigmented lips. On pigmented lips, it may need a lip concealer, so that you donot waste much of the product, to show its true color. Saying that, I must add that the color is quite buildable, and you may increase the intensity based on your choice.

Formula: This belongs to the Ultra-hydrating group of lipsticks. This lipstick glides very smoothly on the lips, and feels very light weight. It is in fact, quite creamy and moisturising. It does not bleed at all, and can be easily built up to a medium coverage. It has a glossy sheen, rather than a high shine to it. It does not dry out the lips, and is a bit moisturising in fact. However, this one does have shimmer particles; so if you have dry lips, it is better to exfoliate them before applying. All in all, the shade and the formula together translate into an extremely comfortable lipstick to wear and carry off.

Lasting Time: With a cup of coffee or such, it lasts for 4-5 hours on my lips. A meal will definitely rub it off completely. However, it fades uniformly, and does not leave a shimmery mess on the lips. It does not leave any significant stain after fading.

Cons Of Chanel Rouge Coco Ultra Hydrating Lip Color #426 Roussy :

• Expensive.
• Availability.
• Pigmentation could have been better.
• A meal will easily wipe it off.
