Top notch packaging and amazing formulation. That’s what Charlotte Tilbury products are about, but a lip balm worth $35! Is it worth? Let’s find out.
Meet my breakthrough anti-ageing balm for a dewy, younger-looking pout. Its hi-tech formula combines magical natural ingredients to create a powerful moisture-sealing, protective barrier plus long-term lip healing benefits.
Testing found Lip Magic to have an unparalleled ability to not only protect the skin, but to strengthen the creation of new cells, while reducing water loss by 34 per cent. The result is baby-soft, smooth, pert lips – lines are reduced, while dryness and chapping are soothed. Lip Magic also creates a nourished base that’s perfect for lipstick. Unlike other balms, it actually works with your lipstick, whether matte or cream, for a perfect application and sustained colour.
The key ingredient is Propolis – a resinous elixir created by honeybees to protect the lining of the beehive with magical healing powers. It can be used to treat ailments from sore throats to cold sores, and to boost the immune system.
This is combined with natural wonders and youth-boosting actives, including:
• Hyaluronic acid, which fills out lines for plumper, fuller lips.
• Vitamin E, a free radical-fighting antioxidant.
• Argan oil, which boasts intense moisturization and healing properties.
• A triple blend of jojoba seed oil, olive oil and helianthus seed oil to moisturize and seal the skin from external aggressors
• Shea butter, one of the richest and most nourishing emollients around.
• Beeswax to naturally condition the lips.
My Experience with Charlotte Tilbury Lip Magic Rejuvenating Lip Balm:
This come housed in a transparent pot with the rose gold screw up lid with CT logo on the top and the product name label on the bottom. This contains 5ml of product. That is a lot of money for this amount of product, but it’s Charlotte Tilbury and it will be expensive. The pot looks very chic and elegant. It’s from Charlotte Tilbury, after all.
The texture of this is quite thick and more on the emollient side. This has a weird floral scent which I don’t prefer, but as soon as you apply this on your lips, the scent fades away. I was afraid to use it under my lipsticks as it’s so emollient; I had a doubt that it will alter the look of the lipstick on the lips, but it works very well. It smoothes the lips, making my lipsticks and lip liners glide on effortlessly.
I apply this before makeup and pat a little so it doesn’t alter my lipstick’s finish. It does hydrate and moisturise my lips, but I don’t see it worth this much money. You can get the same result using a normal lip treatment or a lip balm. I wanted to see if it works as a lip treatment. I applied this before going to bed, but it didn’t heal my chapped lips; next morning, I didn’t feel my lips were as hydrated as would have prefered. Basically, it did nothing! It does work as a lip primer or base perfectly but as a lip treatment I guess it’s not worth the price tag.
Pros of Charlotte Tilbury Lip Magic Rejuvenating Lip Balm:
- Works as a lip primer
- Beautiful packaging
- Makes your lipsticks and lipliners glide on effortlessly
Cons of Charlotte Tilbury Lip Magic Rejuvenating Lip Balm:
- Does not work as a lip treatment
IMBB Rating: 3/5
