My Experience with Charlotte Tilbury Mini Miracle Eye Wand Shade 2:

Packaging:  This product comes in a two-sided pen style applicator. One side has the eye cream and the other side has the concealer.  You have to disperse the product by twisting the golden base under each applicator and use the brush to apply where needed.

Eye Cream:  The eye cream is very lightweight with a gel-like texture. You need the tiniest amount for each eye and pat it in. It has a light cooling sensation upon application and gets absorbed within seconds and leaves your under eye feeling soft and hydrated. I have oily eye area and most under eye creams can feel too heavy and greasy on me which makes them unsuitable to use under concealers, but that was not the case with this eye cream. It’s quite lightweight, non-greasy, non-sticky and once absorbed, it does not interfere with my concealer application. It has a light, floral, perfume-y scent. I have not noticed any firming or tightening effect from this cream as per claims.

Concealer:  Now, coming to the disappointing aspect of this product. I have heavy dark circles due to genetics and I am very picky about my concealers. I have this product in the shade 2 (it only comes in 5 shades), which is described as a “beige” shade for light skin tones with neutral undertones that works with Light Wonder Fair 4, Medium 5, 6, 7 and Magic Foundation Shades 3.5, 4, 4.5 and 5 (in Charlotte Tilbury). It is just a tad bit light for my skin tone, but considering the fact that I am looking to brighten and lighten my dark circles, it works well for me.

The coverage is light-medium which may be good enough for those with not-so-severe dark circles and it does even out and brighten the eye area which I like. I do have quite visible blue-purple tones to my dark circles hence this concealer due to its neutral-yellow undertone does not quite help in concealing them completely. I can still see a dark shadow under my eye despite using this product though not as much as without it, so it does do something. I do find that using this on top of a peach-toned corrector (my favorite is the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye Corrector) and using this product as a brightener works much better for me.
Swatch on hands

It does have a satin finish which I am not a fan of as I like my eye area to be matte. Hence I always top this product with a setting powder.

Staying Power:  I did notice some fading around 5-6 hours. Once set with powder, I did not notice much creasing or settling into fine lines during the wear time. My eye area felt quite comfortable and the eye cream did not smudge out the eye makeup either.

Overall, I do quite like this product but I am not in love with it. I really do enjoy the lightweight texture and comfortable feel of both the eye cream and the concealer together. Regarding the coverage, it might be enough for girls who do not have heavy dark circles and are just looking for a bit of brightening to look fresh and awake, but personally for me, I found the coverage and the lack of peachy undertone not enough to conceal my under eyeshadows.

The quantity provided is also very less at 3 ml and for the price that it comes at, I do not think this is worth the investment.

Pros of Charlotte Tilbury Mini Miracle Eye Wand Shade 2:

  • Sleek packaging.
  • Lightweight texture.
  • Non greasy and non sticky.
  • The eye cream leaves the eye area soft and hydrated without being too greasy and makes a good base for the concealer.
  • Good for those with dry eye area.
  • Good for those who do not have heavy dark circles to conceal and just looking to brighten the area to look fresh.
  • Good staying power, does not crease or settle in fine lines.
  • Light, pleasant floral scent.

Cons of Charlotte Tilbury Mini Miracle Eye Wand Shade 2:

  • The concealer gives a satin finish. I personally prefer a matte under eye hence topping with a powder is a must for me.
  • Very expensive for only 3 ml of product.
  • The coverage and lack of correcting undertones make this product insufficient for my dark circles unless I pair it with my own corrector.

  1. I’ve stopped looking for concealers which would work in their own. I’ve come to terms with the fact that I need a corrector, there is no way out. No wonder I’ve hit pan on my BB corrector!
