Chic Hairstyle For Waist Length Hair

Chic Hairstyle For Waist Length Hair

Happy New Year Gals and IMBB Team,

Yeah, its late but better late than never.

Hair has always been a major concern for me. I want them to stay healthy and look beautiful any day, but every other day with all hush-hush, there is not any time left for styling. Moreover, frizzy and wavy hair soaks up all my courage to leave them open.  I have fallen in many such situations, finally one day, I found a way to make an updo (other than my normal braids and buns) that is chic and modern and doesn’t take much time out of my ever-busy schedule and most importantly have won many a compliments on different times.

I thought about sharing it with all of you, so here we go step by step.

Chic Hairstyle For Waist Length Hair

Step 1:

Comb your hair well and add some serum for adding softness and shine. In case hair is shampooed and is still wet, make sure to blow dry well, otherwise wavy hair will dry in its own way making all the effort of styling a total waste.  For added charm, you can use a roller brush on ends to curl them inwards.  Here, I kept my hair natural with just a serum on.

Step 2:

Gather all your hair in a fist and hold it as shown in picture attached and smooth the length with your second hand.

Step 3:

Make a knot with your hair close to the roots and twist it once for added firmness of the knot and hold it upwards. Please refer to the third picture for better understanding.

Step 4:

Hold the tail upwards tightly and secure it with a clutch.  You can use the other clip for securing also, but a clutch clip works best to hold the hair in place and make them fall beautifully too.  For added safety, I use hair pins (bobby pins or U-clip) to make a better hold of the knot. It helps to secure the bun in place for as long as 8 to 10 hours. Please refer to the 4th, 5th, and 6th pictures for this step.

Step 5:

Now, comb the hair upwards and downwards to make them fall like a fountain from the clutch opening. Comb well so that hair is fluffy enough to hide the clip and knot under the fall and ta-da my hairstyle is ready.

This is the simplest way to carry it out.  For some party or formal occasion, I use different accessories to make it stand out. Sometimes, I use front braids and highlighting shimmer to feel like a rock-chic, but that entirely depends upon the mood and demand of time. Be it Indian or western outfit, it suits all attires.  Just use your skills to work it for you as well.

Step 6:

Now, the most important step, scroll down and enjoy the pics!!

    1. Thanks preeti………the credit goes to my mom for sure……..she was the one to take proper care of them for years…..***thanks Mom***AS a child my hair was way wavy and dull but her weekly oiling and champi after that made them smooth and manageable.

    1. Hi Rashmita,

I have always had very very long hair (almost to my knees), few years ago I decided to cut them off, the stupid hairdresser cut them upto my waist…I was soo upset 🙁 , then i started having biotin tablets, now my hair is back to its original length :happydance: :balle: , i swear by biotin tablets, it will take a good 6-8 months but it really helps, do check with ur doctor though before starting…hope i helped..best of luck  xo

    2. OOps…….Sorry you felt like this way Rashmita………and thanks a lot for liking it…..For hair growth I just can say that being from a Sikh family I was not allowed to cut my hair short so they grew long with age…….Even trimming them was allowed only when I got in high school and my Mom used to oil my hair every week………(coconut oil/ badaam oil or til oil and sometimes all three mixed and heated)….that helped to keep them in good condition and after that I took charge of them and stopped oiling and fell in the trap of high promising shampoos and all plus an unhealthy lifestyle………..and suffered heavy hair loss even my skin shows now when I oil heavily…..even premature graying……….. then got my lesson after all loss……..and now I try to keep them nourished with oiling and homemade packs plus I consume Amla or Trifla powder too……..So that they get all the lost luster back.

  3. Rashmita….try consulting a doctor and ask for iron and vitamin supplements. I think all of us go through hairfall issues in winters……once that passes, hair doesn’t fall that much O:)
