China Glaze Texture Nail Lacquer – Bump in The Night Review

China Glaze Texture Nail Lacquer – Bump in The Night Review

Hey there!

Like every other kid, I too went through the rebel phase and I took to wearing black polish, rather than creating panda eyes. Even when I outgrew the phase, I have a special place in my heart for black nail paint. It makes your hands look lighter and just gives a punk rocker edge to your entire look.  So when, I was deciding on my China Glaze haul, I wanted a black nail paint too. I picked up 3 and each one is decidedly different from the other. The nail paint I am going to review is from one of China Glaze’s Halloween collections and is beautifully textured; read on to find out more about it.

Packaging:

It comes in the classic China Glaze packaging, big glass bottle with a matte black brush handle, that looks sturdy but I am not going to be dropping it any time soon 😛 The product details on the bottle have already started fading, so would have preferred some etched or raised text that won’t fade.

My Take on China Glaze Texture Nail Lacquer – Bump in The Night:

My long nails broke due to a series of unfortunate events! *sniffs dejectedly* They will grow back, but I miss them so :(( Anyway, this polish is a textured polish, so it certainly isn’t for the shiny talon-ed brigade. The finish veers towards matte and needs at least two coats to be completely opaque. This is a perfect nail colour to get a punk rocker edge to any outfit.

China Glaze Texture Nail Lacquer Bump in The Night 4

It needs at least two coats for complete opacity and like all textured polishes, suffers from the flaw of tip wear. The polish begins having tip wear within the first few hours and is really irritating due to the same, but it isn’t that noticeable as such and can be ignored. Actual chipping only beings on the 3rd-4th day, which is to be expected from textured polishes.

There might be a slight nail polish build up on the nail tips that needs to be filed away, but the finish is so darn interesting and eye catching that I can’t help but overlook the inherent flaws of this polish.
