Chocolate Chip Stuffed Gulab Jamuns Recipe With Photos
Hello,
This is my first article on IMBB and obviously I am very excited about it. I was introduced to IMBB by my very dear friend about a year ago and since then I have been hooked. Honestly makeup is something I am not comfortable with infact few months back I did not even own a single lipstick/foundation/eye liner/eyeshadow etc, the only stuff I used to wear was my maybelline compact and a sunscreen.
But now thanks to IMBB I am proud owner of quite a lot of makeup products and now my purchases are also a lot smarter as of course I would buy stuff only after reading the reviews here.
Though this is a makeup blog but today I would be sharing with you all a very simple and innovative way of making your sweets even more sweeter. We all love traditional sweets, be it kids or grown ups, we all have sweet tooth for some or the other sweets. Gulab jamuns have always been a favorite in my house and I have been making these since ages. Though we can make them from scratch but I will end up cheating and make them using my favorite gulab jamun mix ie Chitale’s. This mix has never failed me until to date and I have always received great reviews!
So whats different we are going to do with gulab jamuns? Today I’ll be sharing with you all step by step instructions on how to make gulab jamuns at home using Chitale’s mix and also STUFF them with CHOCOLATE CHIPS….yes you heard me right…today we will make “CHOCOLATE CHIPS STUFFED GULAB JAMUNS”.
I know it may sound to weird but the basic idea is to stuff gulab jamuns with anything you like…for eg mixed dry fruits or tutti frutti or cherries or chocolate chips. Let your imagination run wild!
This is a big hit with children and I guarantee to you that!
So without any further delay lets get started!
Step1:- Take Chitale’s gulab jamun mix in a bowl, you can use any of your favorite gulab jamun mix as well. I have taken 250gms packet which
gives me approx 20 gulab jamuns of medium to large size.
Step2:- Add water and make soft pliable dough as mentioned in the instruction set on the cover of the mix.
Step3:- Now make a small round ball with dough and flatten is slightly using your fingers, place 1-2 chocolate chips in the middle.
Step4:- Bring all the four sides of the ball together and pinch them so that they are stuck, please see the below picture for reference.
Step5:- Now apply some ghee in your palm and using both the hands gently start rolling the ball between both the palms just like we do for
roti dough. You should get a perfect round ball without any creases or breakage marks, please try to avoid creases as much as possible.
Step6:- Now follow the same procedure and make the rest of the balls.
Step7:- Now to make sugar syrup, take 2 cups of sugar ie 400 gms and equal quantity of water in heavy bottom pan and start heating. Also add
in 2 to 3 peeled cardamon pods along with its skin, few strings of kesar and 2 to 3 spoons of rose water. Together all this will enhance the taste of gulab jamuns and make them more traditional like and tasty. You need to boil the syrup for minimum of 10 to 15 mins until single thread consistency is formed.
Step8:- Heat ghee/oil in non stick pan for frying gulab jamuns, deep fry only 4 gulab jamuns at a time, each gulab jamun will take minimum of 5 mins to get cooked. Make sure the gas is on SLOW HEAT or else your jamuns will remain uncooked from inside. Make sure your jamuns have proper color just like one shown below. Also note once dipped in sugar syrup the jamuns will become one shade lighter so fry them until your wanted color is reached.
Step9:- Once your sugar syrup is done, put all your deep fried jamuns in the hot sugar syrup. Make sure each jamun is properly coated/immersed in the syrup. you need to keep the jamuns soaked in the sugar syrup entire night or atleast 5-6 hours before serving them.
Before
After the 8 to 9 hours
Step10:- Serve them cold or warm with vanilla ice cream and your Chocolate Chip stuffed Gulab Jamuns are ready 🙂
Hope you all enjoyed this tutorial as much I enjoyed making these! Do leave your suggestions and comments as I would love to hear from you all.
Till next time…take care!
Parita

Parita i try everything you put on your blog 😀 you make lovely things 🙂
Really? Oh pls do share the stuff you made na…m so touched… :thanks: Komal :puchhi:
you see that is the point :/ i TRY to make it and then :/ well it dosent really work out 😛 😛
like i really really want to make the cookies but i dont have an oven 🙁
You could try making them in micro convection mode..though i havent tried but know a lot of people who bake using micro and have successfully made cakes/cookies/brownies etc 🙂
That happened to me a lot in the start but now i kinda have gained expertise in baking by experimenting a lot and plus cooking/baking for me is very calming :)) Also even if you fail pls dont loose heart as it happens to everyone and this way only we could learn from our mistakes
i made cake once in my microwave 😛 , it was nice but i put egg in it and after that everytime i have tried without the egg it just goes hard and then i have to make tiramisu out of it 😛 😛 . i saw so many videos on how to make eggless cake but it just dosent happen 🙁
Komal..i havent tried making eggless cake in micro but have you tried to bake cake using aluminium cooker? when i started baking i did not own an oven and I used to bake all my cakes/cookies in aluminium dabbas…the big ones which we use to store our dal/rice ete…try this way and you should get soft cake 🙂
Komal, in microwave use convection mode and keep the temperature at around 250 degree..
majedar baat :/ my microwave dosent have that option 🙁
