IMBB has indeed reached all the corners of the world. A friend of mine called me from US asking me that she had read a beauty blog by somebody of my name…Was it really me???? I was actually surprised. For one, she is not at all into makeup and fashion (though that might have changed after going to US), and secondly, I had not told anybody about this secret passion of mine. I admitted, yes, it was indeed me. She got so excited…she actually sent me this lipstick at my relative’s place in UK, since she knew I would visit there soon. It was a small present from her, wishing me much success.

Dior has been a high end cosmetic brand since many decades now, and has many iconic products to its credit. In the past, it has launched many lipsticks, under different headings, and then revamped them again and again. The latest change Dior has done to its lipstick line is to make it as simple as possible for the consumers. Dior has now, in a way, streamlined its lipstick collections into two broad groups. If you want a sheer lipstick, go for the “Dior Addict” Range. However, if you are looking for more pigmented shades, then it’s the “Rouge Dior” Range where you should turn to. Today, I am going to review the shade which my friend gifted me.

My Experience with Christian Dior Addict Lipstick – 983 Insoumise:

The product comes in a silver box packaging. All the details are written on the packaging. The packaging actually screams simplistic luxury. The lipstick is housed inside the box packaging. The lipstick comes in a glass packaging which is neither transparent nor completely opaque. The packaging is a bit on the bulkier side. The bullet inside is a pinkish mauve color with minute silver sparkle particles in it. However, the sparkle does not feel gritty on application.

The lipstick applies extremely smoothly on the lips. The color is sheer, but still with modest pigmentation. It makes the lips look glossy with very good shine. However, the sparkle is visible on the lips, which makes it look a bit frosty after some time (when looked at it closely). The lipstick is moisturising and extremely hydrating on the lips.

It stays dewy for 2-3 hours, and then turns a bit matte. But it continues to hydrate the lips throughout its stay. Since the pigmentation is more, it tends to stay on lips longer. It stays through breakfast and snacks with ease, without any fading. It stays easily on the lips for 7-8 hours without any food. It is only slightly transferable on glasses, leaving only an imprint of your lips (and not of the color at all). It fades evenly, and does not leave any stain on fading. The color and the sparkles fade evenly, without looking OTT at all. If removed with a remover, it will be removed easily, without any sparkle particles spread all around.

It is extremely good for dry lips. It does not settle into lip lines. It is hydrating, but does not feather or bleed at all. It can be applied with a light or heavy hand, depending on the time of the day and the occasion. If applied over a lip liner, its longevity increases.
