Christian Louboutin Bengali, Colibretta, Altareva Loubilaque Lip Lacquer Review

I have been using these Louboutin lip glosses for months now. I have these in 3 shades:

  • Bengali – a true fuchsia pink.
  • Altraeva – It is a soft n*de rose gloss with pale gold pearls.
  • Colibretta: is a warm bright pink. It is very similar to Bengali except this one looks a tad reddish than Bengali/

Product Description:
What it is:  A transformative, dramatic lip lacquer to create brilliant, bold color with a high-shine finish.

What it does:  Loubilaque Lip Lacquer is Christian Louboutin’s most dramatic lip formula to date. The brilliant and intense, glassy shine of Loubilaque appears to magnify the color on lips. Bold, sexy, and arresting, they feature eight shades, ranging from nude to bright hues, including the brand’s iconic Rouge Louboutin shade.

Specially formulated to reflect light, this lip color takes on brilliant dimension. In keeping with Christian Louboutin’s vision of beauty as objet d’art, the bottle is designed with thick clear walls, and is carved with an intricate mermaid tail pattern to encapsulate the opulent color like an elixir. Encased in a jewelry-like box with a hand-stitched silk carrying pouch and silk ribbon.

My Experience with Christian Louboutin Bengali, Colibretta, Altareva Loubilaque Lip Lacquer:

These lip lacquers come packed in these gorgeous black boxes with red velvet(y) casing on the inside. They also have their own sheer black pouches and ribbons. The packaging is to die for the lip gloss is actually in the shape of Louboutin heels. They are clear, so you can see the actual color of the gloss. There is a crown-like gold cover that is also the wand of the lip gloss. The wand is in the shape of a little triangle and it is a sponge applicator. The packaging is kind of big, but it’s so gorgeous that you would definitely want to carry them around with you.

Honestly, I am not the hugest lip gloss wearer, but when I do, I want my glosses to be on point – non sticky, non gooey, long lasting, pigmented and no weird scent or taste. These Louboutin ones really pass a lot of tests. They feel amazingly moisturizng and light on lips, especially since the weather is quite cold these days, I double them up as lip balms.

They feel very comfortable and non sticky. They almost have a watery consistency to them when you apply, but settle to a thin, glossy veil kind of a texture after a bit. I also feel they make lips look a bit plump and healthy. The only thing I find weird about them is the scent and a slight weird taste. I mean they are definitely not as bad as the Gucci glosses were (which literally tasted like soap). But they do have that hint, which sometimes makes it a bit unsettling for me if I lick my lips or have a meal with these on.

They don’t settle in fine lines. They stay for good 5-6 hours on me despite a full meal and I think that is absolutely incredible. These are medium pigmented glosses but the brighter shades give a gorgeous pop of color and you don’t need necessarily need to wear them with a lipstick underneath.

Altraeva is the least favourite of the three colors I have. I feel it washes me out and not a good shade for my complexion. Bengali, and Colibretta are very similar to each other, but if I have to pick between the two, I’d pick Bengali for sure.

Would I Repurchase Christian Louboutin Bengali, Colibretta, Altareva Loubilaque Lip Lacquer?

No, for me, these are more like one-time treats. I can’t really pin point anything super special about these glosses except how gorgeous they look and make you feel. I mean these are good glosses but there are so many other brands that do good glosses. If I really have to pick something for Louboutin Beauty, it would definitely be their matte lipsticks. I think they are absolutely stunning in terms of formula and shade selection.
