Today’s review will be on Louboutin lipstick, $90 USD. I wanted to see if there was something really insanely incredible about it or it was just a collector’s piece. The shade I will be reviewing is called “Youpiyou.”
A long-lasting, silky-satin lip color that glides on luxurious color, a sensuous texture, and superior wear. This unique blend of ultra-fine color pigments express deep and generous color with a silky satin finish. Formulated with a complex of natural oils and seed butters, it enhances moisture for up to four hours and creates a protective effect against dryness. This lip color is available in a universal shade palette, ranging from light to deep tones, across mid-tonal and bright hues of pinks to berries, reds and corals, and nudes and browns. Presented in a jewelry box and offered with a silk carrying pouch, the design mirrors an objet d’art so intimate as to be worn like a precious jewel; it transforms a forgotten object into a woman’s magic wand. The colors are available in three finishes—silky satin, velvet matte, and sheer voile—each with its own design. Each lip color features a unique elixir vial design with a silk ribbon to transform the lipstick into a necklace. The solid black or gold metal body holds the iconic Rouge Louboutin lip color.
My Experience with Christian Louboutin Youpiyou Silky Satin Lip Colour:
Christian Louboutin lipsticks are priced at $90 each. Rouge Louboutin ones come in black lipstick cases, and all the other shades are encased in gold.
This lipstick comes with a string attached to it, which looks a bit weird. The idea of this string is that you can wear it as a necklace, seriously! Who would wear this heavy lipstick as a neck piece? The packaging is very different from the lipsticks you will see in the market and I think that’s what you are paying for. These lipsticks come in several different formulas – matte, sheer and silky satin formulation. These come in a gold tube and different finishes have different packaging – matte formulations have matte tube, sheer and silky satin have shiny tubes.
This lipstick is quite weighted and feels quite luxe. The smell is kind of perfume-y, it’s not overpowering, just a mild scent. The shape of the bullet is a basic slant cut.
I was a bit apprehensive to apply this lipstick at first, I didn’t want to ruin my $90 dollar lipstick in any way.
“Youpiyou” is a lovely orangey-red shade. This color is quite deceiving because on the lips, it pulls more orange than it looks in the tube and I think it will suit most skin tones out there. This shade belongs to the silky satin finish.
It’s a highly pigmented lipstick and glides on the lips smoothly. It also feels light on the lips. This lipstick, like the “Miss Loubi” lipstick, makes my lips fuller and beautiful. When applied, it has a slight sheen to it. The color stays on the lips pretty well even after eating and drinking. This lipstick doesn’t dry your lips out. Also, it fades very evenly and leaves a beautiful stain behind. It stays put perfectly for 8 hours.
Overall, I lover the formula, hate the price of this lipstick. I am also not a big fan of the packaging. I also hate the fact that I would be ordering more from this range of Louboutin lipsticks since I love the formula so much 😛
