Hi ladies,

Finally, I have got my hands on Ciate’s Glitter Flip Liquid Lipstick. By now, you would have seen it doing the rounds on internet and people are obsessed with it! It was launched a year ago with 7 shades and they were all a hit, so this year Ciate London has come up with new shades in its “Glitter Flip” range. I will be talking about one such newly-launched shade “Whisper.”

My Experience with Ciate London Glitter Flip Whisper:

Packaging: It comes in a standard cylindrical tube with silver glitter screw top. Luckily, the tube is transparent, so you can easily pick shades from your stash if you have more than one of these. The tube is beautifully decorated with silver fonts and shimmer clipart. The interesting part about this glitter flip is the applicator. It is not a regular one, as you can see in the picture, this doe-foot applicator has a slight curve to it that helps it glide on the lips as perfectly as possible. Personally, for me, it does really help because I like to take full control on my lipstick application.

Now, here comes the interesting and fun part! Simply apply one even coat directly to the lips, leaving to completely dry for 2 minutes. Now press your lips together and watch it transform before your eyes to a dazzling full-coverage glitter lip. The process is so fun that I have done it 2-3 times at home without having to go anywhere. 😛

The concept of glitter lip by Ciate is brilliant and probably making millions of dollars, but when it comes to performance, this brand should really think twice. The glitter flip completely dries matte when applied, but this isn’t really the smoothest application I have ever experienced. I don’t know if it’s the colour that I have bought or whether it’s the formulation, this glitter flip dries super streaky and enhances deep lines on my lips (which I am not really loving).

The fun part came when I pressed my lips together and boom!! When it revealed a million micro glitters, the deep lines on my lips disappeared. I enjoyed using it after that. As far as the wear-ability is concerned, it is immovable. It stays on forever and you have to use an oil-based makeup remover to take down this glitter flip. If you use any micellar water, it will leave the area around your whole mouth shining like a disco ball and also it is not the most comfortable lipstick to wear. You will definitely feel it on your lips all the times.

Overall, I really love the concept of glitter flip and I wish the formula was a bit better and wearable. Of course, I will wear it for special occasions no matter how uncomfortable it is, but this glitter flip product is being picked up only its unique concept.
