Cinema Secrets Ultimate Foundation 5-in-1 Pro Palette 400 Series Review

Skin tone: medium deep; NC42-44
Skin type: dry combination, sensitive and acne prone.

Hola amigos,

We all love makeup and any and every product looks good and enhanced when the base is perfect. A good foundation really makes the base perfect. I was looking for a foundation and wanted to try one from Cinema Secrets, but since it has to be ordered online, that makes it really tough to choose the correct shade since we really cannot match the shade to our skin tone. To tell you the truth, I always suck at it! Every time I have bought a foundation online, it was no doubt a failure. 🙁 So I ordered this palette thinking that at least one of the shades will be a perfect match for me. Let us see how this product fared.

Ingredients

My Experience with Cinema Secrets Ultimate Foundation 5-in-1 Pro Palette 400 Series:

Packaging: The product comes in a palette which houses 5 small containers which hold the product. The lid is transparent over the containers so that the shades are visible. It has a very small strip of mirror – I don’t know why! It does not help during application and not even for touch ups. This palette comes with a small brush as well, again a terrible mismatch with the product. This brush might be used for spot concealing but is not for foundation application. The palette closes with a satisfying click and comes in a carton which contains all the details about the product.

Shade/Pigmentation:  The palette has 5 shades ranging from light (401) to dark (405) in the 400 series. The shade numbers could be explained as the smallest number being the lightest and highest being the darkest, but the sub digits are beyond my understanding. 😉 One good thing is that it comes in around 50 shades! Whoa, so one can find their match for sure. But from the palette, even the darkest shade is one shade lighter than my skin tone.
Packaging

Application: The product is very lightweight and creamy. It gets picked up easily with fingers as well. I use a small spatula to pick the product (don’t want to dip my fingers in it) and I then blend on. It blends like a dream. I have used my Sigma 3DHD Kabuki Brush, Beauty Blender, and my fingers as well, and it blends beautifully without any streaks no matter what you use.
Foundation shades

It feels very lightweight on the skin, looks very natural, and I do not feel that I am wearing any makeup at all. A very little product is needed and it gives a sheer to medium coverage depending on what you use to blend it with. It can be used with a moisturizer to sheer it out. The coverage can be built up easily.
Foundations

When a single layer is applied and set well with powder, it kind of sets there and will not budge for the whole day. Even after 8 hours of wear, there is no creasing at all and very little fading happens around my nose. In fact, my makeup looks pretty fresh. But I find that the more product you apply, the more it becomes prone to transferring. In any case, I won’t wear this one with my white shirt. Also, this one is not for oily skinned girls. Though it provides a semi-matte finish, it will not control oil and you might end up looking like an oil well and find the need for powdering much frequently.
Foundations

It did not break me out and did not highlight any of my dry patches. There is no noteworthy fragrance it in and it smells like wax, but that’s not overpowering.
