My Experience with City Color Cosmetics Contour and Correct Cream Palette:

This is my first makeup product from this brand, so I was quite excited about this palette. A corrector and contour palette seems like a must-have to achieve that perfect flawless and chiseled look. Talking about the packaging, the palette has a clear lid. There is a double-sided brush with this palette. The lid of the palette shuts tightly making this palette travel friendly, but this lid shuts so tightly that it’s difficult to open sometimes and I ended up breaking up my nail. Overall, the packaging is sturdy, lightweight and travel friendly.

Corrector palette

The palette comes with four different coloured concealers shades, a highlighter shade, a bronzer shade and a contour shade. These are arranged in two rows – the first row has all the corrector shades while the second row has the highlighter, bronzer and contour shade. The corrector shades are meant to correct different skin issues. The yellow corrector is for hiding dark spots. I use this corrector to hide acne scars and it does a pretty good job at that.

Contouring palette

The green corrector is for reducing redness of the skin.  I have used this corrector a lot on my Manali trip recently because my nose used to become red in the chilly climate. The lilac shade is for correcting discolorations. The orange one is meant to hide dark circles.  This is one corrector that I use the most since I have dark circles because of spending long hours before the laptop and sleeping late at night as exams are near. This orange corrector hides my stubborn dark circles completely.

Now, coming to the second row, the first shade is the lightest of all and is meant to be used as a highlighter. A highlighter is used to highlight the high points of your face like your nose, cheekbones, brow bone etc, but I felt that this highlighter is the same shade as my skin tone and does not help with highlighting. The second one is a bronzer shade that adds warmth to the skin. It gives a beautiful sun-kissed glow to the skin.

The contour shade is the darkest of all. So, you have to be extra careful while using this shade because it’s insanely pigmented, so using too much product would leave strong brown lines on your face.

I always prefer cream contour palette over powder ones and this palette has creamy concealers and contour shades. The consistency is thick, nice and creamy.  These shades give a perfect matte finish and do not leave any oily sheen on the face. None of the shades have any shimmer. They do not impart a cakey finish, in fact, they blend smoothly and effortlessly, giving a flawless and chiseled finish.

Now, coming to the pigmentation, it’s really strong. All the shades from the palette are richly pigmented. The lasting power of the corrector and contour shades is 5-6 hours. Overall, I am highly impressed with the quality of this palette.  Even though it’s a drugstore brand, they have provided a very good quality palette.
