We girls like shopping, or should I say that “we love shopping!” đ And if that includes buying makeup, then we definitely love it. đ And many a times, there are some impulsive buys which land in our shopping cart. This is one such product which landed in my shopping cart when I picked it just out of curiosity. I spotted it while my hubby was searching for a painkiller in our local pharmacy. đ I liked the shade in the tube and it was on some saleâŚjust for a dollar. I had not heard of City Color then (I bought it around February….long time!!!), but the term “creamy lip stain” intrigued me and it came home with me. Let us see how this impulsive shopping fared đ

My Experience with City Color Flirtini Creamy Lip Stain:
City Color Creamy Lip Stain in the shade “Flirtini” comes in a simple plastic gloss tube. The tube is not transparent but opaque and is in the same color as the product. It comes sealed in a plastic wrap which assures that the product is unopened and untouched. I always look out for this as I have seen people opening and swatching the products in case of drugstore brands as they do not have a sample around. The tube has a twist-open cap which has the applicator wand attached to it. It is a simple doe-foot applicator.
“Flirtini” is a mauve pink shade. It is pretty cool toned and very milky for my complexion. It would suit girls with light to medium skin tones. On my medium dark skin, it completely washes me out and looks very horrible on me. đ
The lip stain is really creamy. It has a very thick texture. Before application, we need to wipe extra product from the wand, else the extra product tends to sit on the lips. The product is creamy and velvety, but at times, it feels very chalky too. It does not feel greasy on the lips. The color is intense and the product is intensely pigmented as well. It does not feel heavy on the lips.
It does not bleed, but settles into the lip lines and smudges badly too. Chapped lips need a good scrub before applying this. Regarding the finish, it does settle into a matte finish, but it really never dries. Since the product never really dries, it transfers like crazy.
This gloss has a rose-like fragrance, which is very strong. I don’t have any aversion to fragrance in my products, but this one is very strong, and I totally dislike that. It fades away in some time making it possible for me to keep the product on my lips.
The staying power is okay too. With snacks and drinks, it stays for around 4 hours or so, but the intensity decreases with every sip you take, as it transfers every time which I dislike to the core. With a meal, reapplication is required.
This lip stain is not very moisturizing but is not very drying either. My dry lips did need a coat of lip balm after around 3-4 hours of application.

Cons of City Color Flirtini Creamy Lip Stain:
- Very strong fragrance.
- Smudges badly.
- Transfers like crazy.
- Never really dries.
- Â The shade washes me off.
- The product does feel chalky at times.

Would I Recommend/Repurchase City Color Flirtini Creamy Lip Stain?
Well no! Honestly, this is not the shade for me. But I dislike the product for its strong fragrance too. I would recommend it only to girls with lighter skin tones.
