Today, I have a hair product for you. As much as cleaning, i.e., shampooing is important, conditioning our lovely locks is equally important to retain their moisture and shine. Hence, today, I have a hair mask for you all – Clairol Hair Food Moisture Hair Mask infused with Honey Apricot fragrance.

My Experience with Clairol Hair Food Moisture Hair Mask:

I was looking for a hair mask after my previous one was over and picked this one while strolling along the aisles in my local Target. 😉

The Clairol Hair Food Moisture hair mask infused with Honey Apricot fragrance comes in a golden brown-colored tube with a brown flip-top cap. The packaging is great and I really love it. The product can be squeezed out easily, but I guess it will be difficult to squeeze it out once it reaches the end, but till then, I am happy. 😉 It is a nice break from the wide-mouth tubs since it’s hygienic as well. But it is pretty huge to be taken along, while traveling.

The mask is thick, opaque and cream colored. It is really thick and creamy. It smells fruity and delicious 😛 but is not very overpowering. Though when I just squeeze it out of the tube, it has a quirky medicinal touch to the fragrance as well. The fragrance gets washed out when you wash the hair after using the product (or so I felt!! 😛 ). But if someone is sitting or standing close to you, they would be able to sniff the fragrance off your hair even after 2 days of using the mask. I was sitting with my hubby and watching a movie when he complimented that my hair smells really good. 😀 I loooovvvveeee the scent. 😛

The mask is moisture rich and adds lots of moisture to the hair. My hair is thin and fine. As there are no instructions about the amount of time that it should be left on hair, I just kept it on for a couple of minutes when I used the product for the first time, and it left my hair soft and manageable. The next time around, I kept it longer, for around 20-25 minutes, while I scrubbed and shaved my arms and legs and my hair was super soft, shiny and looked really healthy. My hair felt super silky and moisturized.

I don’t think that even with continuous usage, it has repaired the damage or fixed my split ends, but it does makes my hair look healthy. I apply it on my damp, towel-dried hair.

It tames frizz a little but, not too much, and a serum is sometimes needed to keep the frizz in control. It does not weigh my hair down and doesn’t leave them greasy either. I love that it is paraben and mineral oil free, but it does have a huge list of silicones in there. Though it hasn’t caused any build-up yet, but I use it only once a week and have not replaced it with my regular conditioner.

• Does not tame frizzy hair.
• Peculiar medicinal smell as soon as the product is squeezed out of the tube.
• Too many silicones, may cause buildup.
