Clarins Blemish Control Review

Clarins Blemish Control

I have an oily acne prone skin. My body is completely heated up. I eat mangoes and I get a pimple the next day. I tried using Garnier Correction Pen. I thought it was an okay product. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it just didn’t. My friend tried the Clean & Clear Blemish Control Pen and she said it didn’t work for her. So didn’t want to waste my money. I never used to do anything for my pimple.

One day my friend surprised me with goodies from Clarins and this one was a part of it. It was a decent size box and when I opened it, I saw two tiny bottles. I was wondering that the box is too big for these bottles.  Before I started using this, I read reviews on the internet and I got mixed reaction.

How do I use  Clarins Blemish Control Review?

This is a very small green tube and the roll on is similar to Garnier Under Eye. I make sure I do my cleansing, toning and moisturizing before I apply this. I just take the pen and roll it on top of my pimple.

When my friend gifted it, I had 1 big pimple on my cheek. To be honest, I had zero expectation from this product. Rather I thought it’s just another product that wouldn’t work. I applied it and slept. The next morning when I got up, the size had reduced by half. I was delighted when I saw that the size was reduced. I had applied it before going to work and by evening, it was close to gone. One more application in the night and it was bye-bye for the pimple

I still wasn’t sure about this product. Generally my pimple takes a loooooooooong time to clear up. It’s there on my face for at least 1.5 weeks. I tried this product again another time and it worked perfectly. It clears up my pimple in 3 days. It doesn’t feel like you have applied something on your face.

What do I like about Clarins Blemish Control?

  • It actually works. I’ve been using it regularly and this product has not disappointed me.  I get pimple about once a month and I know I can rely on this product for sure
  • It makes perfect sense to make 2 small bottles. Like the company mentions, you can carry one in your bag and leave another one at home
  • It’s so small that it hardly occupies any space in your bag and just doesn’t leak

  • You can wear it before make up, after make up or just on bare skin. Even if you wear it over make up, your make up will be intact.
  • It just feels like water but gets absorbed in a jiffy. There would not be any patch and no one will notice that you have applied anything. The reason why I like this, with Garnier, it was a gel and it felt sticky. Every time I used to go to bed with it, I felt the cream was eaten by my bedspread
On hand
On hand (water like consistency)
  • Once you apply, you don’t feel anything. The first time, I wondered if it was working.

What do I not like about Clarins Blemish Control ?

I would be rubbing on my skin and then later realise nothing actually came out of the bottle. The roller takes some time to act. I shake it well and roll it on my hand before I start applying

It’s very hard to find out how much is remaining. Unless you see it under the light, you’ll never get to know the quantity left

Price: Rs. 960. It contains two 5ml bottle

Verdict: I know this might be expensive but I think it’s worth it. I would rather have my pimple vanish in 2-3 days than have in on my face for more than 1.5 weeks.

Will I buy it again?
Without thinking twice, I would have to say Yes. I just love it

Overall Rating: :-* :-*:-*:-*:-*

        1. Tell me abt it!! I’ve been using this only for 2 – 3 months now.. Ma earlier pimples have left scars on my face and they take ages to fade :-((

            1. You know what.. I got the free sample of it and I was thinking the same!! Was debating whether to purchase cuz I didn’t see any remarkable difference.. I was thinking maybe it’s just my psychological feeling.. Now that you have mentioned it I’m wondering if I shd buy it 🙂

              1. Hehehee..me tooo freebie testing only 😀 Guess we should have taken before-after photos. I get this feeling its working, but I am not sure, but I don’t want to stop using it..very very confused ?:-)

  1. Hey Priya,
Thank you for this review. 🙂
I was looking for a good spot treatment for acne without the usual Salicylic Acid and Benzoyl Peroxide, and this review couldn’t be more timely for me!
It’s also great to hear that this applies smoothly both over and under makeup. :-)) :-))
Did the product minimize scarring for you? Or did you notice no change?

    1. Hey I don’t think this works on the scar marks. I use this when the pimple is formed and it’s not left any mark..

My earlier scar marks have not faded because of this 🙁 Wish there is a remedy for that 😀

  2. The Garnier Pimple control pen also works in the same way, it was around Rs 75 when I bought it last….donno how much it costs now?

        1. yeah blue colored…..it worked wonderufully for me, Priya…..just one application and the pimple would vanish…..

  3. Hi Priya, nice review, I always feel glad when I read about a product that delivers on its promise… luckily for me Im past the acne prone phase.. but this is good to keep in mind..thx

        1. Read as getting-old, wrinkle-phase old greenie monster :alien: Is this what they meant by oily skin looks younger…cos I sure get pimples like a teenager 🙄

          1. gee….Hey Rads,.if pimples are signs of young age….what is itchy “chorri pidicha” skin sign of 😉 😉 😉 😉 😉 😉

      1. Hey Rads, have you passed on the itchy skin disease to your husband as well?????? :silly: :silly: :silly: :silly: :silly: :silly: …..I have this image of you scratching all over your 😀 😀 😀

    1. Esp when the product is expensive, you feel happy that your money has not gone to the garbage.. I agree with Radhika, how did you get past your acne phase!!!! 😯

  4. As you know I never had these pimple problems. But 2 yrs back I got just a few and I used the Garnier pen and it worked well !!! Hope I need not face the problem again.

    1. You have nice skin and I don’t think you’ll ever face it again.. 🙂 The garnier pen used to work at times.. I’ve never had 100% success wid it.. Guess it refuses to work for me 😀

  5. nice review! but can it be compared to lush grase lighting? cos its cheaper 680 i tihnk and is for the same purpose? :pirate:

    1. Does it take care of existing scarring as well?? If yes, I’ll rush to a dermatologist to find out if I can use it 😀

      1. No it wont. Its an antibiotic and is given for active acne that doent go with anything else. Docs generally don’t prescribe it either that easily – or shouldnt rather – because it can lead to antibiotic-resistance. Which would mean if you use it long term over your acne, you have the slight risk that when prescribed the same medicine for some more serious internal infection, it might not work because the bacteria are all very used to it now.

  6. @ prachi – r u sure? can u rite a review on it or tell me in detail…cos i read other reviews online..where people said it worked for them..so i was plaaning to buy it…do reply n pls help! n thanks !
