My Experience with Clarins Extra-Firming Lip and Contour Balm:

I have pigmented, sensitive lips which tends to dry and chap easily. I have been using Clinique Repairwear Intensive Lip Treatment every night and it gives me excellent results. However, the gel-based formula of Clinique lip treatment in a lipstick form tends to break easily, especially in hot and humid weather conditions. Secondly, a lot of product goes waste in such a packaging. A friend of mine suggested Clarins Extra Firming Lip and Contour Balm, and I decided to give it a try.

Clarins extra-firming lip and contour balm has a balmy texture, it is not thick or sticky. It is smooth to apply and stays on for three hours without eating or drinking. I apply it daily after my morning shower. I take a small amount of balm on my fingertip and gently massage over my lips and lip contours. This balm has raspberry seed oil which nourishes the lips; it is rich in protective vitamin E, has shea butter which soothes, repairs and protects my lips.

Clarins claims to have maxi lip complex that boosts collagen, plumps lips and smoothes fine lines. After regular use, I have noticed a change – my lips feel soft, moisturised, and the lip contour feels slightly firm. In my opinion, this balm does not completely plump up the lips, it only imparts a fuller look to the lips. It does not irritate my sensitive lips, but keeps them hydrated and gives a natural glossy and fuller look to the lips.

It easily stays for three hours without eating or drinking. However, the only disadvantage is that since this lip treatment comes in a glass jar, it cannot be carried around in bags or purses. Having used Clinique Repairwear intensive lip treatment in the night and Clarins extra firming lip and contour balm during mornings; I have noticed a substantial improvement in my lips. I am able to use pigmented, long lasting and matte lipsticks more regularly, which initially use to dry, dehydrate or peel my lip skin or give me chapped lips.
