My Experience with Clearasil Daily Clear Hydra-Blast Peeling Exfoliant:
I have used some products from Clearasil and I’ve had good experience with them. I wanted to buy an exfoliant, and even though I picked two of them, I tried this product first. The exfoliant comes in a tube with a fancy flip cap. There is all information on the tube and the tube is translucent. The exfoliant is creamy white in colour. It is thick and has blue beads. The cap is not very tight, but considering the consistency of the cream, it is leakage proof. The exfoliant has a weird smell and it smells like ripened banana and some other fruits – nothing fresh. I am not a big fan of this smell.
The product doesn’t lather and it is creamy and easily spreadable on the skin. The granules are not very harsh or coarse but they do not melt. Thus, I am not sure about what the beads are made of. The exfoliant can be used daily but I prefer not to use it every single day. The exfoliant cleanses the skin effectively and removes the dry skin. The product makes the skin very smooth. However, it does cause redness after a few seconds of washing. I feel a little warmth on my face, too. The product contains salicylic acid and thus it doesn’t cause any breakouts.
You can also use the product as a face mask after application, too. While washing off, the skin feels a little chilly and you can clearly see that the skin is fresh and thoroughly cleansed. The exfoliant doesn’t make the skin dry and even if you do not use a moisturizer you can go on for a good 2-3 hours. The exfoliant also makes the skin velvety smooth. The product can irritate the skin initially, so a patch test is recommended. The product contains aloe vera and cucumber extracts and thus it makes the skin feel and smell fresh.
As the product cleanses the skin it also adds a glow to your face. Even though the glow doesn’t last long, I like the look of the freshly cleansed skin. The exfoliant, other than from removing the dryness and cleansing, doesn’t do anything much. It doesn’t get rid of blackheads or whiteheads and thus you need another scrub to serve the purpose. Also, I have noticed that using this product after a steam or before a steam can cause a little irritation, but it is not severe or long-lasting. The product contains SLS. The product is not as gentle as the brand claims. If you have sensitive skin, you can give this product a skip.
So, summing up:
