Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream Rinse Off Formula

Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream Rinse Off Formula

Hey Friends! Today, I am going to review Clinique 7-Day Scrub.  Now, being oily skinned and acne prone, I really hate physical scrubs due to which I am always in the search of chemical lotion/gel/cream/exfoliants (by the way, the search still continues, pheww).

Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream Rinse Off Formula

At one such time, during my trials and errors with different products, I bought “Clinique Turnaround Visible Concentrate Skin Renewer” along with some other Clinique products, which didn’t work for me at all and gave me severe breakouts, yes, you can read the review about that product here.

Now, the funny part is that some offer was on and coincidentally, I got “Clinique 7-Day Scrub” along with some other travel-sized Clinique products as complimentary.

I really thought that me getting a free scrub is a sheer waste of a freebie :hihi: as I wouldn’t even touch it, but how wrong I was!! On the contrary, this scrub worked better on me than the “Clinique Turnaround Visible Concentrate Skin Renewer” well comparatively :struggle:

Read on 😀

Directions To Use:

  • Massage gently over makeup-free skin.
  • Avoid eye area.
  • Do not use on active breakout.
  • Rinse with warm water or tissue off.

My Experience with Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream Rinse Off Formula:

Now what I found funny with this scrub was its name, a 7-day scrub? really? Does the company suggest you to use it throughout the week, which means daily, turns out yes!! Generally, scrubs are supposed to be used once or twice a week or at least not too frequently and then Clinique comes up with a product like this, I was way too curious, putting my hatred for granular scrubs aside, and I decided to give this a try every single day and watch.

Texture:

I thought would have nearly negligible granules as its an everyday scrub, but no, its quite on the grittier side.  In fact, the first two days when I used it on my skin, it was not only gritty (which is not a bad thing generally, but ohh well), but also I had to drag it all over my face.  The base cream has a very thick texture and it really is difficult to spread/smoothen this on the face due to which I dragged my facial skin from north to south, east to west :hypnotized:

Clinique scrub

After each use, my skin did look and feel smoother, now after a couple of days, I thought I have to put an end to dragging my skin like this, but I was still adamant to use this for seven days continuously to see its end result.

So, this is how I used it, I wet my face (which by the way isn’t mentioned on directions list, so I was trying on dry face initially).  On moist face of course it spread better and I wasn’t scandalising my skin like before. Result was a slightly fresher, softer, and a smoother-looking skin in four days.

Clinique

Then, came the 5th day and my skin couldn’t take the scrubbing anymore and it broke out.  I think it was bound to happen, how could I even believe a scrub could be used daily and a gritty one at that!! I never used it on the sixth or seventh day and waited for my breakouts to heal.

Now, I use it once a week and the results are fine.

What I also find funny with this scrub is its mention of “rinse out formula” really? Other scrubs aren’t rinse out anyway? :snicker:

Also, what do they mean by “can be rinsed with water or wiped with tissue.” I absolutely disagree. I don’t think such a product can be just wiped off with a tissue without leaving any residue behind, just my opinion. :smug:

Fragrance and Packaging:

It comes in an umm-uhh looking green squeezy flip cap tube and it smells subtly like new plastic :D, which is okay in my opinion since Clinique is supposed to be fragrance free, I don’t mind putting the product on my face for a few minutes and its not even that bad a smell.

Clinique 7-Day Scrub

Pros of Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream Rinse Off Formula:

  • Effective.
  • Leaves skin clean, smooth ,soft, moisturisers sink into the skin better, etc. Basically, effectively does what any other decent scrub does.
  • Fragrance free.
  • Consistency is fine, but not to be used directly on face 😛 (maybe I was using it wrong), but works fine on moist face.

Cons of Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream Rinse Off Formula:

  • The name of the product, instructions to use, etc., everything seems super fishy and funny to me.
  • Cannot be used every single day, it becomes too much for the skin to take and leaves it toooooo tender.
  • Expensive since its no different or more magical than regular scrubs.

Final Verdict:

I haven’t used too many scrubs in life, but out of the few that I have used, this seems no different, doesn’t stand out in any way. Its quite nice and works well but nothing magical.

Will I Repurchase Clinique 7-Day Scrub Cream Rinse-Off Formula?

On those thoughts, I don’t think I will buy it again because I am not high on granular scrubs for my skin type and any other scrub would do the same job. Hence, I don’t really recommend it and urge you to continue to use your regular favourite scrub or buy this only if you are too bored and want to try out something new or simply if you can afford it.
