My Experience with Clinique Beach Plum All About Shadow Duo:

Packaging:
Cute, reflective metal covered plastic palette packaged in a pleasant floral design cardboard. The palette has a compact mirror inside which illustrates on how to apply the eye shadows. Since it is a duo palette, it has two shades which are numbered and comes with a two-in-one applicator. It has a sponge tip on one end and a brush on the other end. Ingredients and other details are mentioned on the reverse of the packaging.

Shade:
Clinique Beach Plum All About Shadow Duo belongs to the violets & blues colour group. It has two shimmery shades – light and medium. As the name suggests, Beach Plum duo has a shimmery warm sandy beige and a medium plum with a mild gold shimmer. Since the wrist swatches are not clearly visible, I have also attached pictures of both the shades on the sponge tip applicator (check out first pic and the pic below).

Beach:
The Beach shade is a shimmery, warm sandy beige shade and has a nice smooth texture. It applies well and blends smoothly. Pigmentation for this shade is quite okay, and can be built up on the eyes. However it hardly shows up on my wrist since it is very close to my skin colour. This shade can be used on the brow bone as a highlighter too and looks very nice. However if not build up well, it gives a sheer finish and tends to fade faster. It can also be used on the inner corners for mix and match effect. Staying power is more than six hours, but requires many swipes to build up.

Plum:
The Plum shade is a medium shade with a mild gold shimmer, feels gritty to touch and is less creamy in comparison to the Beach shade. However, it still feels smooth after application. The mild golden shimmer in the shade does not show on the wrist swatches, but does show up on the eyes. This shade can be applied on the entire eye lid or can be used to define the crease. This shade can also be used on the outer corners of the eyelids for mix and match effect. Pigmentation of this shade is quite good and the staying power is eight hours; it does not fade. This shade performs better on the eyes, compared to the wrist swatch and is buildable to good intensity without much efforts. It looks really beautiful and is my favourite from the two shades.

Conclusion:
Overall, both the shades are very nice. It offers quite good pigmentation, but not great. In my opinion, it could have been better. The shades are not suitable for people who like dark and very bold colours. I first apply my Clinique Superdefense Age Defense Eye Cream and then apply eye shadow. Both the shades stay well, do not dry or fall out; do not feel powdery or chalky.

Under A Different Light:

Since both the shades vary in texture, pigmentation, staying power etc, it is very difficult to sum up the pros and cons. However, I have sum the points which are common in both the shades.

Pros for Clinique Beach Plum All About Shadow Duo:

• Shadows feel light, smooth and easy to apply
• Both the shades are buildable
• Shadows does not crease or settle into lines
• Shadows do not feel powdery or chalky; no fallouts either
• Staying power is around 6 to 8 hours
• Shadows do not irritate or burn the eyes
• Both the shades are nice and beautiful; suitable for daily use
• Ophthalmologist tested for lens wearers

Cons for Clinique Beach Plum All About Shadow Duo:

• Pigmentation could have been much better
• Do not swatch easily on the hand
