My Experience with Clinique Cheek Pop Blush Fig Pop:

Packaging:
This is possible the most beautiful and adorable packaging a beauty item could come in. The case is crystal clear and inside is housed the blush in a beautiful daisy print. The print is embedded strongly, hence it will not fade away quickly, but it eventually might with many many uses. This blush was truly love at 1st sight for me hence without thinking I picked up so many.

Texture:
These blushes are not very powdery or creamy. The texture is somewhat in between. These blushes do not pick up powder when you dip your brush in since they are so densely packed, but they are not as emollient as a cream blush. This powder is definitely thinner in texture and doesn’t feel gritty at all when you feel it on your fingers.

Application, Pigmentation & Finish:
I do find these blushes difficult to work with since not every brush is compatible with it. You do need a densely packed, stiff bristled brush when you are working with these blushes to pick up enough product.

I was kind of disappointed with the pigmentation of this blushes overall, but the deeper shades do perform much better than the lighter shade from the range. The shade Fig Pop has average-good pigmentation, though it still needs 2-3 swipes for it to be visible enough to show up on my skin. Even then the product doesn’t truly build up to be even half as intense as how you see it in the pan.

The finish is slight bit satiny on the skin as it gives a beautiful healthy glow, but it does not contain any shimmer particles.

Shade:
The shade Fig Pop is a beautiful deep copper red. If it had performed better in the pigmentation department, I would have truly been head over heels with this as this shade really complements my Light-Medium warm toned skin (NW23). I feel this color will be very flattering for desi skin types.

Feel On Skin and Staying Power:
These blushes do feel wonderful on the skin. They are very lightweight and not powdery at all, hence they do not stick to dry patches nor sink into pores. It applies and fades evenly and is never patchy.

I wasn’t very impressed with the staying power. I’ve read bloggers claim it last like 12 hours on their skin, but on me it lasted a disappointing 6 hours before fading away and that too because it is a deeper shade. The staying power of this is still much better than than it’s lighter shade counterparts.

I truly wish this product had worked for me. Maybe, I am just used to super pigmented blushes which give me the color I want in just one swipe, hence the lack of pigmentation on this and very poor staying power kind of left me underwhelmed. Still, I do find this shade to be super pretty and if you wanted to get any of these blush, I would suggest you to go for the deeper shades as they seem to perform much better.

But overall, I am not impressed with this enough to recommend them even though they do not have hefty price tag, hence are pretty affordable.

  1. It surely looks more pigmented than it is! But, I like this shade as I am more into neutral shades of blushes. Though, staying power is such a bummer here. :/
