Today, I am reviewing Clinique Chubby in the Nude Foundation Stick. In 2016, a lot of brands launched their stick foundations and this is one of them. I have always liked Clinique Foundations and was looking forward to this one for a very long time. I chose the shade Intense Ivory (06) as it is the usual match for my skin tone. Let’s get into the review.

How to Use:
Draw several strokes of foundation across the forehead, cheeks, chin and down the bridge of the nose.
For sheerer coverage, fingertip-blend to a seamless finish.
For moderate coverage, use Clinique’s Buff Brush to buff foundation into skin using light, circular motions.
To Contour: Use Chubby in the Nude in a shade deeper than your natural skin tone. Blend well for a natural, seamless look.
Cheekbones: Suck in cheeks to find hollows, just beneath cheekbones. Apply a stroke of colour starting at the hairline, stopping beneath the center of the eye.
Temples: Draw colour from the tail of the eyebrow up to the forehead.
Sides of the nose: If a narrower appearance is desired, draw thin lines along the sides of the nose.
To Highlight: Use Chubby in the Nude in a shade lighter than your natural skin tone. Swipe colour along the top of cheekbones, across the bridge of the nose, above brows and at cupid’s bow (the peaked area along upper lip line). Blend well.
My Experience with Clinique Chubby in the Nude Foundation Stick:
The Clinique Chubby in the Nude Foundation Stick comes in a nice portable chubby stick form with a silver cap, silver twist up base and silver labels. It is a simple and elegant packaging. The cap shuts tightly making it perfect for travel purposes.
The formula of the foundation stick is creamy, slightly moisturising and oil-free. It blends effortlessly into the skin. This foundation has a sheer coverage and the claims of moderate coverage and perfection are not satisfying. The Clinique Chubby in the Nude Foundation Stick works well for women who have an even skin tone and for those who prefer a sheer coverage for a natural look. I have sunspots and it does not conceal them well. Using a liquid concealer with this foundation is a tricky job. Hence, I prefer using a stick concealer as it provides a seamless finish to my base makeup.
The Clinique Chubby in the Nude Foundation Stick brightens my complexion and provides a natural, satin finish to my skin. For a sheer coverage, it is suggested to use the fingertips to blend the product but, it results in looking streaky in this dry weather. Also, if my skin is not properly moisturised, it accentuates my dry patches and pores. Using a beauty blender to blend this foundation isn’t a great idea as it doesn’t help in providing a neat coverage. The only option that works as per my hit and trial results is a Kabuki brush (Sigma F80, Sigma 3D-HD) or Real Techniques Expert Face Brush for achieving an even and smooth finish.
When I swatched this foundation, the shade Intense Ivory 06 looked slightly light on my skin. But, once blended, it complimented my skin tone well. Also, it oxidises a bit after 3 to 4 hours. Without a primer, it stays for around 4 to 5 hours. It doesn’t transfer and doesn’t require a setting powder.

I will recommend this foundation to women who have an even skin tone. There are many better options available for $24, so I will not repurchase it.
