Clinique Compact Colour Makeup Palette Review

Hi girls,

I have a compulsive disorder to stuff my handbag with makeup when I go out. I just need to carry it even if I won’t be using it. That’s why I keep makeup palettes aka treasure boxes handy. Today, I am reviewing one such immensely functional product by Clinique.

My Experience with Clinique Compact Colour Makeup Palette Review:

As I have already mentioned in the beginning, it is a very functional product. It comes housed in a white cardboard box with the opened up image of the palette. The palette inside the cardboard box looks very classy. It is a rectangular box with compartments for all the products. The cover clicks shut tight and has a glass like finish outside and a wide mirror inside. Three cute looking brushes come along with this compact colour. I won’t say they are the best brushes around, but definitely do their job well. The cutest of all is the retractable lip brush. The brushes aren’t scratchy and don’t shed many hair when I wash them. The sponge tip eye shadow applicator too can be used in emergencies.

The blusher blush is a peachy shade with brown undertones. I feel it is a flattering shade and you can not go wrong with it. If applied with a light hand, can be worn during the day time. And for the evenings, the intensity can be built up. It has stayed on my oily skin for eight hours. In fact, even after 8 hours, I had to remove it with a cleanser. It didn’t break me out nor did it affect my existing acne.

The pigmentation is also awesome. One word of caution, though, please blend the blush well or it may look unnatural. Moving on to the eye shadows, they are velvety smooth. They glide on easily on the eyelids. The shades are baby pink and coppery brown. With a primer, they last for 10 hours, but after 8 hours, I noticed some creasing which could be because of my oily lids. Apart from this minute issue, I didn’t find any con with the eye shadows. Both the shades are great for daily wear, one is a day time wear while the other could be used for evenings or night outs.

The last product inside the palette is a set of two lipsticks. They are very glossy, but the staying power is below average. Also, these glosses don’t provide any moisturisation and once the color was completely gone, my lips started to feel a bit dry. A big relief, however, comes from the absence of fragrance in the product.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Clinique Compact Colour Makeup Palette?

Overall, it is a good product, but with a few issues here and there. The quality, packaging and the contents (most of them) are upto the mark. If you are travelling and don’t want to carry a whole lot of makeup products with you, you can go ahead with this palette. I would definitely recommend and repurchase it.
