Clinique Cupid Blushing Blush Powder Blush Review

Hi everyone,

I shall be reviewing a blush today which I got as a surprise gift from my husband. Not that he is into buying makeup for his wife, but incidentally, he had forgotten my makeup list on his ship and he got whatever the SA gave him. Most of the items were for dry skinned beauties and I have sensitive, oily and acne-prone skin. Anyway, more on that later, let us take a detailed review of the blush which I have been using quite often.

My Take on Clinique Cupid Blushing Blush Powder Blush:

I would use only three words to describe this blush – “I love it.” Now that the cat is already out of the bag, let me tell you the reasons for the same. It is a beautiful dusty pink shade which comes out very natural on the cheeks. The intensity can be built up though.  It has a satin(y) finish and the finely milled powder is tightly packed in a mirror-finish casing. The packaging is a bit of a problem as it is difficult to swirl big blush brushes on the rectangular pan.

The blush comes in a classy rectangular case which clicks shut tightly. There is a mirror on the flap.  There is a separate compartment for the angular brush. The brush has synthetic fibres which do not shed and is very soft to feel. The mini brush does an okay job if you are carrying it around in the purse and have to do a quick touch-up, otherwise a big brush is what is recommended.

The staying power of this blush is around 6-7 hours. In fact, after 7 hours, I removed my makeup and it was still intact giving my face a beautiful, natural, and healthy glow. It did not turn streaky or blotchy. The colour is best suited for fair skinned girls as it might not show up that strikingly on darker skin tones.  There seems to be slight shimmer in the pan, but during application on to the skin, there is only a hint of shimmer. It gets blended easily. The blush hasn’t aggravated my acne problem, neither has it caused any new eruptions.  Finally, I have found a cosmetic for my face which doesn’t have any fragrance.

All in all, I am in love with the shade, the texture, the pigmentation, the finish and just about everything about this blush.

• Classy mirror-finish casing.
• Staying power is more than 6 hours.
• Does not clog the pores.
• The small brush is much better as compared to other brushes we get with other blushes. The bristles do not feel scratchy and do not shed at all.  The cut out pattern also gets a thumbs up.

Cons of Clinique Cupid Blushing Blush Powder Blush:

• Instead of encapsulating the blush in the rectangular pan, I wish Clinique had accommodated the blush in a wider pan.
• Might not show up on darker skin tones.

Would I Recommend/Repurchase Clinique Cupid Blushing Blush Powder Blush?

Yes to both. It is a pretty silky blush with satin finish which looks natural and imparts a subtle healthy glow to the cheeks. It also gets blended in a jiffy. What else can you ask for. Go get it ladies.
