If you ask me what Clinique products you should opt for first, along with Clinique Extended Thirst Relief, Dramatically Different Gel, Clinique Superbalanced range, I would also suggest Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm.  If you are someone who uses a lot of waterproof makeup, especially eye makeup, on a regular basis, you should definitely get this.  Read on further to know why.

Product Description:

Allergy tested.  100% fragrance free.  Ophthalmologist tested.  Lightweight cleansing balm quickly dissolves tenacious face and eye makeups, including those with sunscreen.  Transforms from a solid balm to a silky, fluid oil upon application.  Cleans thoroughly.  Non greasy.  Non drying.  For all skin types.  User fingertips to massage balm over dry skin.  Rinse well.

My Take on Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm:

This cleansing balm comes in a very sturdy plastic tub, its a pretty big tub and there’s a lot of soft wax kind of balm in there.  Comparing the price with the quantity and the effectiveness, I would say, its a pretty good deal, this tub is going to last me for a very long time.  Like all Clinique products, this too is 100% allergy tested and fragrance free, but there’s a bit of the balmy “odor.” *ghost* The balm is a semi-solid, soft-textured, oily product that melts on when applied.  Yes, it feels silky when I apply it.

I just need to prick out a little amount of the balm on hand and with fingertips, I massage it on to face which is not wet.

Within a minute, I can see all kinds of makeup getting dissolved and coming off.  I use a wet tissue to wipe off the dissolved makeup and use a face wash to clear all residue.  What I get is squeaky clean face with no trace of makeup or oil.  It doesn’t break me out because one does not need to keep it for more than a minute.  It does not make the skin overtly dry nor does it leave any dry patches.

Since this balm is ophthalmologically tested, its very safe to use on the eyes to remove eye makeup such as mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadows (even the waterproof ones).  One of the USPs of this balm is that it does not sting anywhere, neither on the face nor the eyes.

This balm works effectively in removing waterproof mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadows, waterproof eye makeup.  It also removes foundations with sunscreen which do not easily come off with routine cleansers.

Swatches:

From up and down: Lotus Herbals Purestay Foundation, Faces Go Chic Wild Blush, Coloressence Aqua Sindoor, Colorbar I Glide Eye Pencil in Blackout.

I would recommend this cleansing balm to all those who are a lot into makeup and at the end of the day are worried about whether they have removed every trace of it from their faces, try this, you won’t be disappointed!

Going, going, gone!

  • Ophthalmologically tested, hence safe to remove eye makeup including eyeliner and mascara.
  • Dissolves and removes waterproof makeup.

Cons of Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm:
