This foundation had been on my list for a long time and ever since I used Clinique Even Better Compact Makeup SPF 15, I absolutely wanted it. As you know, I had an awesome experience with the Even Better Compact – its perfect for me! Obviously, I had high expectations from this foundation then, check out the review to find out whether its really worth Rs. 1900 or not 😛

My Take on Clinique Even Better Makeup Foundation SPF 15:
If you are not happy with the foundations that you are using, then you should give Clinique foundations a try because I do feel they make some really good ones that ticks most of the boxes for a perfect foundation. There are a lot of shades to choose from – more than 20 I think, ranging from the lightest to the darkest, you would be easily able to find your match from such a shade spectrum. This foundation has been dermatologist tested, which means it is safe even for sensitive skin and also oil free which means it would not grease up your face. Just for the sake of this review (I am lying :P, I was plain lazy), I slept with the foundation on one night and the next morning, there was not a single pimple that popped up! Usually, if I sleep with anything on my face, I absolutely break out with a new crop of acne, but then, this foundation did not cause any harm, so its that good for acne-prone skin.
Coming to the texture, its a liquid foundation that’s smooth and spreads nicely on to the face. There’s not much effort that you need to blend it in. I use a foundation brush and it nicely spreads on. Actually, there’s not much of moisturization needed prior to the foundation because its not drying on the skin. Coverage is light to medium, you can however build it up a little more to cover up the blemishes and it wouldn’t look cakey at all. When blended properly and smoothly, it evens out skin tone to give a luminous finish without any streakiness or patchiness. The finish is very natural, the closest one can get to the skin, feels extremely lightweight, and smooth. I did not feel that it oxidized too much after some hours, the finish pretty much stayed the same for 4 to 5 hours. Its a long wearing-foundation, I haven’t worn it beyond 4 to 5 hours during the day, but I would say, it doesn’t wear off during the course of the day.
Like most of the Clinique foundations, this one too tends to transfer on to phone screens and tissues, hence setting it up with a powder or compact is needed.
You might have read in the product description that it evens out skin tone and age spots with regular use. I do have uneven skin tone, but no age spots, I did not see any improvement in uneven skin tone. When you use the foundation, it instantly evens out skin tone and gives a radiant and smooth skin texture, but its not long lasting. The effect diminishes once you rinse off the foundation.
I am very happy that it hides all minor imperfections on the skin and is one of the best foundations I have tried. Its as lightweight as a BB Cream or CC cream and comes with SPF 15 protection too. Actually, some foundations with SPF factor tend to give a whitish cast in the pictures, but not this one, there’s no stark ghastly whiteness in this foundation.
After using Clinique’s Even Better Makeup Compact and Even Better Foundation, I feel that both are equally good, and you just either the compact or foundation, not both. I would give a few more brownie points to the compact though since it goes from creamy to powdery finish on the face, but the foundation is great for me. Do try it at the counter to check whether its your kind of a foundation. For me, its perfect!!! (its probably the 100th time I am saying this :P)
