Clinique Full Potential Lips Plump and Shine Mini Lip Gloss Duo

Hello Lovelies,

This is another Clinique product my aunt in the US got me for my birthday this year. I’m addicted to lip balms and glosses, I have some 20 varieties in my cosmetics drawer as of now and this was yet another great addition to the collection. I love the name of the lip gloss, “Cherry Bomb” sounds both delectable and funky.  The lip gloss is very small and compact, fits right into the palm of my hand.  It has two shades of lip gloss, one on either side, each with its own doe-foot applicator. One shade is very light (the shine part) slightly shimmery pink and the other is a lovely reddish pink (the plumper part).

This is apparently part of a collection of 5 lip glosses, for a total of $36.10.

Quantity:

4.7 ml/.16oz.

The smell is faint and sweet, not overpowering. The texture is sticky and slick and it slides on pretty easily. Here are the swatches, it might not be very clear, so the shine part is a light and shimmery pink that doesn’t have a lot of colour when you put it on, but has clear sparkles. The plumper part is a lovely coral red.

While the shine part is a nice gloss that you can use for day wear or for a casual occasion, the lip plumper does not really do what it claims. It works just like a regular gloss and didn’t bring about any real change in my lips or plump them up, so I was puzzled as to why it’s called a lip plumper. As with most lip glosses, the staying power is not very high and it fades within an hour or two.  It also tends to get a little too sticky at times.

• The overall look is very good with this lip gloss.
• Doesn’t have an overpowering fragrance.

Cons of Clinique Full Potential Lips Plump and Shine Mini Lip Gloss Duo in Cherry Bomb:

• Not available on its own, only as part of the pack.
• Doesn’t stay on for too long.
• Lip plumper does not have any effect, it’s like any other gloss.

Overall, it’s a nice product, but I don’t think I’d go to a Clinique counter and purchase it because I’ve seen other lip glosses with similar payout. In other words, it’s a Clinique product, but it’s nothing special.
